Starting an independent practice in PA (LPN)

Nurses Entrepreneurs

Hi! I am an LPN based in Pennsylvania. I want to become self-employed doing home care as well as LTC. After about 2 years of badgering I was finally able to get a straight(ish) answer from the Board about whether it is permissible (it is), but since they beat around the bush so much with an answer I still feel ill-informed on how to go about it. I have printed the state forms for creating a medically- and non-medically based company , but am having trouble understanding some of what they want. Are any of you self-employed LPNs in Pennsylvania? Can you PLEEEEASE help me figure this out?? Thank you SO much, in advance.

I would hire an attorney who is familiar with forming this type of business. Spending a dollar now might have you a lot of time and money later. Best of luck and kudos for taking that leap to owning your own business.

Hiring an attorney as suggested is a very good idea to protect you. My question, is your business plan self-pay clients?
