I'm a new grad. My first job is going to be in an ICU. I'm wondering how I'm going to keep up. Any advice?
As far as new grad pay...in our hospital ICU is paid the same rate as any other new grad.
Whomever has the brain sheet, I'm interested too! :) We're very protocol driven and certain things are done at certain hours (weights, strips, 12-lead, etc) in addition to your hourly stuff and meds and all that. I'm still looking for a good way to keep it all straight.
Well, here is the deal... kinda think it's weird to exchange email with a lot of people. I did send it to one person, but have decided as Allnurses advises that this shouldn't be a habit. I also don't really want to post it for all since it's like my own cookie recipe. Would love to PM some of you with it, but can't figure out how to do that, as there is no attachment area in the PM message box. Hmmmmm. I'll see if I can find some nerd here that has figured anything out... Oh wait, I do know a nerd to ask...
2ndWind....
I'm starting preceptorship in ICU in about a week, and would love to see what you whipped up....especially as I'm a very graphic person and items like that help me to prioritize better than just "lists".
I'm prepping myself in other areas like meds and vents etc...but I know that simple (or not so simple?) "time management" will make more of a difference at first. If you can figure out a way to PM me...that would be great. If this whole thing has turned into too much of a pain...then I understand that as well...
Thanks!
Hello,
I'm a new grad BSN student starting out in a busy MICU. I was wondering if you still had your "brain sheet" for reference? It would be most appreciated.
Very Sincerely,

Ha!, trouble is my middle name.
Anyhoo, does anybody know how to attach a document to a private message? I've seen done with posts...
