I had my first day of clinicals today in convalescent hospital , and I was soooo lucky bc I was working with a super dooper cool CNA . She was nice , calm , and very helpful, she has answered on all my questions. But my 2 other friends were not so lucky bcuz their CNA's didn't want them there!
Tomorrow I'll have somone else , anyweys I'll just do my happy nursing ,' help the patient, learn , record and report' ;D
All the best to you guys
Congrats on getting started. I just completed my CNA course and skills on June 26. I too am a full-time student taking 18 hours, plus working FT, and a mom of two small children. I did not find the actual CNA book work very difficult at all, the main thing is to practice your skills over and over so you will be confident during your state test. Good luck to you and keep us posted :)
Well I'm a little nervous as my CNA class starts in an hour and a half. For the next five weeks ill have that, college course work, and a full time job that includes a douchy boss. Wish me luck
You have all that and you're going forth? Well I'd wish you good-luck but my best bet is to tell you, watch yourself for a burn-out. Even my clinical for CNA was hard as we had to do real work, not just finish our skills.
It'd suck to burn out so early in the game, especially if you plan on continuing your nursing education.
I have 1 week of class and one week of clinicals left and I'm finished.(94% lowest grade thus far) just completed my b session college classes (4.0) and have 3 weeks of c session left...can't say this summer has been easy, but if it gets me out of the dead end job I have now the headache will be well worth it.
But a bit more sleep would be nice...
