I just accepted an offer to work for a medical case management company as a wc case manager. Can anyone out there tell me what to expect as I am leaving bedside nursing as an L&D nurse?
Thanks for any input:typing

Hi bambi227!
I used to work for Broadspire as FCM on an independent contractor basis in San Diego. Since you already work for Broadspire, maybe you can see if you can keep your current job for the time being and also take an occasional FCM task assignemement with them? Sometimes that leads into a full-time position. What state are you in? There are more FCM positions than TCM positions, at least that I've seen here in So. Calif. I found my current position at CorVel through a recruiter...I don't think they advertised it publicly. Many positions are word of mouth.
If you are only interested in a TCM position, look at Bunch and Associates (http://www.bunchcare.com) My friend recently interviewed with them for a TCM position. I also check the CMSA website occasionally....they list many CM jobs (http://careers.cmsa.org). There's also http://www.rncasemanager.com/. Genex, Sedgwick and Intracorp are big companies out here. Also, have you looked on Craigslist, Monster and CareerBuilder? I've actually gotten a few of my FCM jobs that way. I have so many jobsites bookmarked I could be a professional job hunter!
