Starting BSN program in January!!

How do I prepare myself in the meantime?

Congrats to you!! :)

I assume you will be taking A & P, Chem, etc. I would start reviewing A&P and Pathophysiology. These classes contain a lot of content. What is your first semester looking like?

Well all the sciences (A&P I/II, micro, patho, chem) were required pre-reqs that I had to take before getting into the program so when I start in January I'll have to take Concepts in Professional nursing, Practicum: Concepts of Prof.Nursing, nursing sim lab, Pharmacology, and Holistic health Assessment.

Where are my manners today? THANKYOU!!! I'm so looking forward to it.

You prepare by spending as much time with family and friends because you will have little time to spend with them once school starts.

It's crazy how different all programs are! And you are welcome! :) haha it's exciting! I remember being a little overwhelmed in pharm. I would start learning classes of drugs. Beta blockers. Antidiabetics. Just a few examples. I know we we focused ALOT on cardiac meds, GI meds, analgesics. Know your meds! The nurses I had in clinicals liked to grill me on meds ;) Keep up that positive attitude! :)

Also I must add, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. it's a lot less stressful this way

If you can get the syllabus, start reading. Also, you can work on dosage calculations, because those will haunt you forever. Have fun with family and friends. Of course you'll still take time to be with them once January arrives, but probably not as often as you would like.

I printed out my friends notes from pharm because I wanted to get a "head start" but I kinda feel like I'm trying to over prepare myself.. lol

Can you tell me how to prepare for nursing school at lamar university? I'll be attending LU nursing program in spring 2015. I am done with all my prerequisites
