Hi, I am also starting OCT 1 at ACC for LVN in LA ILL SEE U THERE....One question, have they called you or mailed you any information about orientation.....or info on when we will get our uniforms and books they havent sent me any information just wondering if you have received any info.
No they havent sent me anything yet. They said they would, like the week before orientation.. which is on Oct. 18.
I want to post about Orienation which was today. 63 people showed up and they had snacks set up for us as well as coffee/tea etc. They passed out a packet of rules and a success packet, we met with various people from different departments. Then the assistant director of nursing was talking about how she loves being a nurse and that there is such a high demand and that we should really try to go to our RN because that will double our pay Last, we got fit for our uniforms. They told us that we will get our uniforms the first day of class as well as 20 lbs worth of books! Its ok because I cant wait to start! :w00t:

I currently am going to ACC just started my 3rd term and this school is a mess. I wouldn bring my dog here for training. My advise for anyone whose starting here is to go on campus and ask as many students in other terms if they would recomened ACC
Well I have talked to students that are currently attending and they say its great... too bad you aint having the same experience...
you are correct i ain't having the same experience. when i first started, they were as nice as can be. They make it seem like its very professional and they have their sh*t together. but they don't. you will see that once you start. they will have no clinical teacher for a month or no clinical site or theory teacher they will sit you down in a room till they figure it outand waste your time .all they care about is getting you money thats all you are to them at the end of the day just a number and $$ in my opinion they even committed fraud this term they changed final hesi scores because 15 people were failing in my class and that would look bad so they added 54 point out of nowhere to the whole class. now only 7 failed. they couldn't even come up with a good excuse why they did. so 8 people who basically were failing now got to pass which is not fair to me who study hard to get good grades and it isn't fair to the other 7 who failed...this is the kind of program they run
Really? I hope that doesnt happen to me... I will post how it goes once I start.

So I started on wednesday and around 62 students showed up. We can only have 50 in the class but they purposely over booked to 65 because they know that a lot will eventually drop out or fail! We got 5 books and still expecting to get 2 more. They gave us handouts to study for a quiz we had on friday. We got our uniforms on thursday and more handouts to study for a test on Monday! We had our quiz on friday on 5 chapters and now I am studying for my very first test which is tomorrow! Wish me luck everyone! Overall... I thought it was a great 3 days of school. :monkeydance:
