Starting a thread for the New Grad program starting March 2024!
Note from allnurses Staff
As this is one of our most popular new grad residencies on this forum, with hundreds of threads over the years, the allnurses support team wanted to share some additional information on the residency program.
Good luck to all!
The Stanford RN Residency Program, which started in 2006, is one of the most sought-after residencies in the country. The Winter 40 Cohort has a start date of March 18th, 2024.
It is a separate residency program from the Stanford Children's Health (Lucile Packard) Program and the Stanford ValleyCare programs.
The pay is competitive at $81.69/hour plus shift differentials:
Interview invites are scheduled to be sent out at the beginning of January, with the interviews taking place from January 29th- February 9th, 2024. There are two separate interviews:
There are four specialty areas that participate in the new grad program:
As well as some additional specialties (subject to change). Applicants are asked to rank their preferences, but you will only be interviewed for one specialty.
Woowh said:I hope Stanford will send us any letter soon even if it's a rejection letter. I just wanna know what my status is as of now.
I agree. Hopefully they will let us know either way. That would seem fair and reasonable.
I imagine they're emailing out by specialty .
On a side note, I received an email when I submitted my application way back in November, but I log into "Canidate Log in" and do not see my application. Is that where we go to view our status? Maybe there is another log in I'm not aware of.

Mine still says, "In Process, In Review".

I'm also guessing that Stanford didn't send any rejection emails yet because they wanted to know whether those who got the invite will actually take it. Maybe they'll send more invites to people in their waitlist? Do they even have a waitlist? IDK
cutie pie xoxo said:Is everyone guaranteed an interview if they met the minimum qualifications? I remember they said they hire about 100 which is a lot so I'm assuming they interview a lot as well?
It's not a guarantee. They score your application and that include the essay questions. For the medicine unit interview, I only saw like 5 diff time slots with like 4 spots so in total I'm guessing they are interviewing max of 20 ppl for each unit.
this is data from cohort 37. I hope it can give you guys ideas how many they would like to interview.
Critical Care: 40 interviewees, 15 hired
b. Medicin: 80 interviewees, 23 hired
c. Surgical: 80 interviewees, 23 hired
d. Oncology: 80 interviewees, 25 hired
e. Float Pool: 20 interviewees, 2 hired
f. Clinical Trials: 20 interviewees, 3 hired
g. Inpatient Psychiatry: 20 interviewees, 2 hired
I. Adult ED: 20 interviewees, 4 hired
Where are you all going to log in to see your application status? Is it under "Candidate Log In?”
I remember applying directly under a link from the webinar. The account I created back in November shows no applications. I just got an email saying they do have my application (no other news).
TIA!

Yes, I do go to Candidate Log In at this address https://careers.stanfordhealthcare.org/us/en/
And then go to Candidate Home - should be able to see it there under My Applications
