I've received the email for the intervention program and I'm contemplating doing it for the fact that I won't face discipline from BRN but is it worth it. I'm not dependent on etoh but do drink with friends. From what I've gathered it seems extreme.
What is the alternative? Have anyone face the discipline of BRN and not lose their job. I feel I will and preparing to do so already regardless of which path I take.
I would love to hear from those who did either one or the other and what was outcome.

I'd suggest a lawyer to ask questions about your specific situation.

In my state, if you get a DUI, these "alternative" programs don't grant you immunity from a disciplinary action appearing under your license name even if you complete them, so it's NOT worth it to me. These programs are such BS it's actually insane. If your state will grant you immunity from disciplines appearing on your license, then go for it!

The California diversion program is undergoing huge changes at the moment and I would REALLY do your research before joining the program. They are currently keeping people in indefinitely...over the usual 3 1/2 years. I just finished the diversion program and if I had to go back I probably would have done probation. Call the diversion program and ask to talk to a case manager and explain your situation. They may or may not give you any solid answers though LOL. Like I said...do your research about what is currently happening with the diversion program.
