  1. Where are you?! Your program is heaven compared to California. In my state a missed check in = automatic 30 days off work. We are tested approximately once weekly and it is an observed test. When a test is dilute they assume you are using and trying to cheat the system and they punish you. Case managers are not supportive. Our committee that decides if and when we can go back to work, carry keys, etc...not supportive!! California requires signatures from AA/NA so you can't cheat. And the list goes on...I totally agree with your take that your program motivates you to be your best. All the California program did for me was give me PTSD and a lot of anger LOL!
  2. Ugh. Let this be a lesson to follow all the stupid rules to a T. All of these programs will chew you up and spit you out and even having a day extension is torture!! I will say only a 6 month extension is extremely lucky despite all of the expenses she incurred for rehab. Hope she is doing well!
  3. I had to do observed testing in California for 3 1/2 years. But it was always with a female tester and I didn't have to get naked. She just watched me pee...and usually didn't even do that, she was just in the room. What you're describing is crazy
  4. I did dialysis while in the program. I can confirm that it doesn't pay well. I have a friend who got a job at a good hospital while on probation though. And a few people I've met through NSG were able to keep their hospital jobs. It's definitely not impossible to get a job while in monitoring. You might have to try something new though. Good luxk!

Oh wow, nurse support group is not a requirement in Connecticut? I had to go every week for 3 1/2 years

I got my job in dialysis through a girl I knew in nurse support group who worked in dialysis. You have to kind of make connections and utilize them when you're in this program because we are not exactly desirable to employers
  7. The California diversion program is undergoing huge changes at the moment and I would REALLY do your research before joining the program. They are currently keeping people in indefinitely...over the usual 3 1/2 years. I just finished the diversion program and if I had to go back I probably would have done probation. Call the diversion program and ask to talk to a case manager and explain your situation. They may or may not give you any solid answers though LOL. Like I said...do your research about what is currently happening with the diversion program.
  8. Hey there, I had my meeting on Thursday July 11th and I got a letter from them the following Monday stating that I had completed. They said it would take 2 weeks to hear from them but it only took 4 days. It continued to let me check in for several days after I received the letter but my case manager said just to ignore it if I was selected to test.
  9. I think it allowed me to check in for another 4-5 days. It was frustrating and made me question if I was truly done! They did tell me not to worry about it if I was selected to test
  10. Totally agree and I am sure I will feel the same way in the years to come. The California diversion program has become completely corrupt in the last year as well...joining forces with the enforcement division and changing rules and requirements at will and extending participants programs for no reason at all. I'm so thankful I got out of that dumpster fire before they added anything else on and feel so bad for the people still stuck in it.
  11. I completed the program July 15th. I'm very interested in joining some sort of class action lawsuit against the BRN intervention program. I heard there is one started but I can't find any information on one
  12. Even though I was done July 15 my testing app let me check in until yesterday! My case manager said sometimes there is a delay getting over to the testing company you're done. I tried to check in today and it said account not active. That's when I truly felt a huge weight off my shoulders and realized I was finally done!
  13. Thank you! Like I said it doesn't feel real. I never thought this was going to come to an end! Congratulations for making it through
  14. Alright you guys...I completed my California diversion program! I've been in since December 2020 and my contract ended on Monday. I was supposed to be done in April but with all of the changes they extended me until July. It doesn't feel real. The program definitely traumatized me and I stayed clean and sober despite of it not because of it. All of the posts on this forum helped me stay sane. If you guys have any questions let me know!!
  15. I was soooo disheartened and bummed last meeting when they had speaker after speaker talking about what was really going on in the program despite what they've been told by you know who. And they still elected to do literally nothing. The next meeting is tomorrow...I'm praying they actually do something. And yes that lawyer is an absolute joke
