Has anyone heard about the new St. Thomas University FNP program, Miami Gardens? Is it accredited? Anyone in the program?

@Scrubsof3 The classes are structured in a way that each course goes with each other. All the clinical courses will be in the last section. Most exams I’ve seen have been 45-100 questions ranging from 1hr to 1hr and 30 mins. I know for the final class of the whole program it’s 100 questions to 100 minutes as it matches the state board testing ways. You get a total of 5-6 exams. You need a 83% to pass the course that includes the discussion boards, project and exams together.

@XxKatyxX I don't know about the bachelor's portion but for the master's it is so far for me.

Hi ladies, I just withdrew from there on Thursday after starting classes on 1/9/21. The most most frustrating & ridiculous experience from a school I ever experienced. Sorry it’s a No for me! Horrible Communication as mentioned prior in this post is what did it for me. Only persons I only was able to get in contact with is my student success advisor. Nobody else! I could not give anymore time in trying. Good luck in your school searches!

That is so unfortunate! I'm sorry that this was your experience with them. I'm trying not to be discouraged! ?

@hospitality020 not even a week ? I just received an email from tech support  that the business office disabled my school login. I didn’t 4 days trying to log back in & have been getting the run around from the tech support the time they knew?. Nobody answers the phone. I work overnight so I can’t spend all my sleep mornings on the phone trying to speak to someone.

That is really unfortunate. I just started the MSN PMHNP program at South College iin Tennessee and so far, the experience is pleasant.

University of West florida has a good BSN program. No clinicals and no practicum hours required.

Has anyone graduated recently from STU? How was the experience? Did anyone take the FNP certification exam yet that graduated from STU?

Do not attend this school by any means. The department of nursing education should have shut this program down a long time ago. I don’t think no one has graduated there yet. I’m in the 3rd promotion, class or whatever they want to call it that started, and I’m taking classes with a bunch of students from the very first class and they are still failing. That’s how bad it is! I think all the students that are attending this school should petition the board of nursing to cancel the program. You are being self taught, syllabus is not followed. Exams are not on book or chapters according to syllabus. The teachers cannot explained to you why your answer was wrong, they don’t have no rational for any questions you asked because they don’t know it themselves. This school is a joke at its best. Do not go there! if you do, it will be a waste of your time and money. The program director knows about it and she’s not doing anything about the students complaints or concerns because she’s getting her paycheck regardless. I think we the students should contact the nursing board so they can investigate the program. If it wasn’t for the great preceptors that I have and a solid nursing background I would have been a mediocre NP once I graduated if I ever graduated from this nightmare.
