  1. Hello, good evening. Just took the 1st pharmacology exam, and failed. I read the chapters, but I felt that quite a bit of the material was not on that test. I admit that I didn't really commit a lot of the information in the boxes and tables to memory. In hindsite, I probably should have. Anyways, just wanted to know if you have any tips or advice, friendly suggestions about what I can be doing differently? I really want to pass this class! Thank you so much! ?
  2. Hello! Congratulations on your completing the program! I actually just started, and I'm only taking one class at a time. If possible, could you please send me an email? Just wanted to know more about how the program went, and tips for success. If you will. [email protected] and if not, that's OK too. Anyways, congratulations!
  3. That is so unfortunate! I'm sorry that this was your experience with them. I'm trying not to be discouraged! ?
  4. Good evening! I'm glad that I found this thread. I'm planning to start in STU's FNP program in March. I don't know how to tag or reply /respond to any particular post, but will any of you will helpful tips please reach out to me about the program? Please! Any tips that might be helpful for academic success is welcome! Tia! [email protected]
  5. Hey there, jklstrive...how are you doing in the program so far? I started in the spring 1 term with 2 classes...I really like it so far. Not that the work is overwhelmingly too hard, but for me it has been time consuming. I've had to go PRN at my job because I have 2 small children at home, and it was becoming a little hard to keep up with the curriculum, working those full time 12-hr shifts and care for my babies. I'm a little apprehensive about this assessment and pathophysiology course that I'm about to start on Monday, but oh well, it has to be done! Let me know how you're doing!
  6. the interview was not too bad actually, i was really nervous going in there but when they started asking questions, the answers just seemed to come out.
  7. ok hailey, that's cool, if i get in too we can definitely talk about it! i'll let u know if (preferably when) i get in!
  8. yes ma'am, i'm from around here so i dnt have to look for housing. i am looking for a place closer to campus, tho, but because i have a house full of stuff, i'm not looking for student housing, i'm looking for a house or maybe a townhouse someplace where it's quiet. yeah i'm gonna call on the date indicated on the letter, i'll let u know what time it's scheduled for. hope to meet u there!
  9. @ Hailey, hey there, i got the same email for an interview 2 days ago, i guess we all have to schedule for dec 2nd...good luck to u!
  10. no ma'am, i'm actually still in the air force, i'm just a reservist now. i'm hoping to get a commission with the af after i complete my degree. i actually get a stipend now, but that's because i'm getting post-9/11 gi bill money (which is amazing, by the way). an army friend of mine suggested the prgm that i believe you're talking about, but i believe he said i have to alrdy be accepted into a nursing prgm to be considered. i guess i'll find out soon enough.
  11. @ RN in FL, thank you! i really hope i get in too. it was the only program that i applied to, but i told myself that if i didn't get in, i would just go back to active duty, since they are now recruiting for my job until early next year. hopefully it doesn't come to that, but if it does, then i'll take that route.
  12. yeah i have a friend who got in with a 2.8 gpa, but that was a few years ago. he actually dropped out of the program 1/2way thru, and has since graduated with a degree in healthcare management, but he did say that they have since made it harder to get in the SoN. i spoke to one of the counselors, she told me that they didn't admit anyone with less than a 3.3 for fall 2011. i submitted an application for spring 2012, and i had better than a 3.0, but less than a 3.5, so i guess we'll see what happens. good luck to all else who applied, i hope to see ya'll there!
  13. no, i will be transferring from a community college. my gpa is awful (more than 3.0 but less than 3.5 ), so i'm a little embarrassed to post it here. (i failed a math class last semester...that really hurt my gpa.) i've already started to get my stuff together, a lot of it though i'm just waiting to fall in that window that it has to be done in.
  14. hello to you too! i'm actually still in classes, i have 3 classes left before i finish pre-reqs but honestly, now i'm a little worried abt my gpa. was the application process fairly easy?
  15. hey there, i am NOT a nurse, i am an Air Force medic, but just like the Navy, our nurses are treated very well. the benefits are great, the pay is AWESOME, and the traveling is a bonus. there are so many opportunities for active duty nurses, too. i'm not sure how you're paying for your education, but they will also pay back or help pay back student loans. not to mention job security and the experience you'll receive! although you may not always get to choose where you go or where you'll work , know that the military will always try to put you in a place that will help you with career advancement and increase your job knowledge. i'm not a recruiter and i'm not trying to sell you on the Air Force, but i've been in for 10 yrs (in nov!), and it really is a great place to be!
