St. Paul School of Nursing

Published

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone was applying to SPSON for the fall 2014. I went to their open house and took the entrance exam. I will be submitting my application soon then taking the hesci exam. I was curious to know if there was anyone out here doing the same ?

@blessedlady ..thanks for the kind words. I was a little down today but after speaking to some schools I realized that all hope is not lost. And its funny this evening I took my time to read the catalog and they only show accreditation for NYSED and ABHES like you said. ha ! I'll be transferring some core courses to SPSON if I get in , so those classes I'm glad I don't have to worry about it transferring or not.

Also, NSLIJ one of the biggest hospital systems in long island WILL HIRE A NURSE WITH AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE. When you look up their job postings, it says you have to enroll in a BSN program within 2 years and complete your BSN in 5. So that was encouraging as well.

Trusting in God

That's correct about NSLIJ...Trust me I understand, some days I'm up others I'm down, but we must not fear. Instead let's focus on what's ahead of us in the next 2 years if we get in. Ill be transferring some core courses but I hope my sciences get accepted, my A&PI was in 2010, A&PII and micro in 2013. My non-sciences are over 5 years, I hope they overlook it since I have a associate degree. I really don't want to take those classes over.

Thank you all for the information. We are are building a team! It seems like you are all in for the AM program. Anyone doing evening?

I Completed a Non-Accredited Nursing Program, But Want Higher Education. Help!

this was the thread i was reading

I was also reading this article. It gave me hope but I would like a lot more options just in case one school doesn't fall through for me.

That's good.. If you use to be a cna, does that also count as experience?

I believe it does count as experience!

Is anyone applying to other nursing programs for the Fall ?

i also applied to to the st paul in staten island and there process is alot different

there is no interview ans they also want you to take the cpr class ,drug test and 50 state background check before the nursing commitee cane even review your profile to get in

Really ? That's interesting. When do they make their final desicion ?

In June because that's when they stop accepting application

I thought about applying there but paying the tolls back and forth would be a bit of a burden.

So now that we've had our interviews do we just wait until June ? That's torturous ....

They told me by May all letters should be out :)
