most do..now i heard from a friend of a friend who went out to river falls WI and go into the LPN program right away (this was about a year ago).. it might be worth the drive.
I did the RN program in River Falls, WI there is no LPN program there anymore. You can however start the RN program and take the LPN NCLEX after the 1st year
There is definately a waitlist at CVTC in River Falls. They also do still have an LPN program, it's just that few stop there. Most have applied to and continue on in the RN program. I'm getting ready to start my last semester there. I spent my time on the waiting list finishing pre-req's. I had to wait about a year--but I'm very glad I got my A&P and other things out of the way during that time so I could just concentrate on my nursing classes.

I really don't mean to argue but if you check the program catalog on the CVTC website you'll see that the LPN program is now only offered at the Eau Claire campus. In order to get your LPN in River Falls you have to apply to the RN program and begin that, you then have the option to stop after the 1 year if you want your LPN. But you still must have all of the pre-req's for the RN program. I originally applied for the LPN program 4 years ago and recieved a phone call telling me that I was being move to the RN wait list since they were doing away with the LPN program at that campus, siteing a saturation of LPN's in the area.
I am looking at a three year waitlist in New Richmond for their RN, so I am trying to find out if I could get an LPN program done and possibly a bridge program done in less amount of time than I would spend on the waitlist. I'm not sure if River Falls or St Paul is closer to me, but they seem about the same.
I see now, it does say it's the Eau Claire campus. Opps! I guess the instructors there don't realize that either b/c we had this big lecture at the end of 2nd semester about going on/stopping/etc.
To the original poster, if you do want to start in River Falls, you COULD stop after 2nd semester and sit the LPN boards. I didn't stop, but I did get my LPN license so I could work. A lot of my classmates did the same.
Last I heard from incoming students, the wait isn't as long at CVTC. Sounds like the New Richmond school has a very long wait, yuck!

Does anyone know if there is a waiting list for St Paul College's LPN Program?
