Hi,
I'm a travel nurse who just started at St. Mary's, although on the Ortho/Neuro floor, not Tele.
From my past three whole days here, I've found the staff to be extremely helpful, and they have gone out of the way to make me feel welcome and needed.
The reason that I am responding is that the Ortho/Neuro floor will be picking up Tele overflow within the next few weeks/ to a month, and I have heard a few facts, that the Tele floor is well run, but is a fast paced floor, with many cardiac drips, almost like a cardiac step down unit.
While that isn't my area of expertise, they do have what is called SLP self learning packs, via computer courses that can also be applied for CEU's if needed in other states for licensure. I have been doing those that are "required" even for travler's but from the list there are so many choices to pick from. These continuing eduication courses are free! Even for the travler's.
So from my small experience, I'm hapy to have been choosen for this travel assignment, and feel blessed to be at this hospital and really glad that I'm here.
Supposed to be close to 80 degrees this weekend... ah spring....
I wish you every happiness in making your choice, but perhaps we will be waving hello to each other soon, or riding an elevator together.
