St. Luke's or Methodist (Houston) CVICU

Hi all,

Has anyone worked at either St. Luke's or Methodist's (in Houston) CVICUs? If so, what has your experience been like? Do you love, like or hate working there? How is the pay? Any issues with doctors?

I'm looking to move to Houston in the next 6 months or so and would love to work at either of these hospitals. I have 3 years CVICU experience, including VADs and heart and lung transplants. I have also been a charge nurse for the last year.

Thanks!

Very smart to move to Houston in the "winter" rather than when it's jungle-hot .. LOL. Dealing with triple digit heat & 80% humidity is sometimes too much for our newcomers.

Which location do you want to work in? These are hospital systems with several satellite facilities throughout the Houston metro area. If you are not a BSN, I would strongly urge you to obtain your CCRN before applying - to increase your chance of being hired in the facility of your choice.

Good luck!
