 Hello,

Has anyone attended St. Louis Community College school of nursing at Florissant Valley or any of their campuses? I am due to start the actual nursing classes in Fall of 2005. The waiting list is very long. However during all the time I had to wait to get in I have taken all classes required for the degree except the actual nursing courses. I just took the Nursing Dosage Calculation test that they now make new students take now before they start the nursing classes. I got a 100% on it so I am very happy about that.

I am just wondering how the clinicals at this school are arranged? Also any opinions will be helpful. How hard is the program overall?

Hey all! Im christina, and I am a student at Forest Park Community College. I am now taking all of my prerequisites to get into the nursing program. My fall 2005 classes are chemistry, psychology, a history and PE classes. In january i have to take biology...and THEN, after the spring 2006 semester is over, i can then apply for the nursing program at forest park. cant wait!! yea, i heard about that dosage and calculations test.. i think they also have a 4 week class that prepares you for that test. its a nursing math class i think.. wow you got 100%?? thats great. well, my question is: does anyone know of any hospitals in the saint louis area that are hiring entry level nursing aides, or pre nursing students?? if so, please let me know! ty!

Anyone have any idea how long the current wait is for getting into the nursing program at Flo Valley?

im going to be in the nursing program at meramec and i have heard that the waiting list is much shorter because they accept nursing students both semesters and not just one.

I am applying for the RN program at STLCC Meramec Spring'o6 and I was told (by a Nursing Advisor) there is a 4 semester wait but could be accepted early (maybe) if some students decline to enroll due to going to another program or not meeting the requirements at the time of acceptance. I know that they take new students in the spring and fall. I hope the wait time goes by fast because it sure is a long wait !!

Hello!

My sister went to Forest Park community college's nursing program when there was not a waiting list. She graduated like a year ago. She liked it a lot.

It took me 2 semesters to get an admittance letter from Forest Park. Three for Meramec. I applied at the end of summer '04.

Hi ALL!

This is my first post. I've been lurking around this site for a month. Tonight I just noticed the regional posting.

I'm currently taking my pre-req's at Forest Park and am on the famous waiting list. They told me when I got on the list that the average wait is 3 semesters, but sometime less if folks have changed their minds or dont have necessary courses out of the way. I'm okay with the wait. If I run out of pre-reqs I plan on taking courses that will transfer for my BSN(I'm looking and leaning towards SLU at this point! ) I have had A&PI, am currently in A&PII. This fall I'll take microbiology. I wont be taking anything but my nursing courses once I start the program.

Where are clinical done in the community college program? I've heard Barnes, Bethesda, Mo Bap. I really like the idea of clinicals at a variety of facilities....my thinking being that you get a good look at a number of facilities for possible employment.

Well I tend to ramble, so happy I found this part of the forum
