1st Job Offer: What to look for...

Published

okay guys,

i need help. the cardiology group is putting together an offer for me and will be presented to me in the next couple days. i wanted to know what your thoughts were on what i should:

a) expect them to offer (e.g. cme credit, other benefits) - not talking about salary

b) ask them to provide (e.g. loan payoff/assistance, x amount of time off)

c) be willing to accept (what are some absolute no-no's or perks?)

anything that you would have liked to negotiate up front with your first job offer? any pointers? anything to look out for? just any tips would be greatly appreciated! :)

Yes, let us know what happens with your job offer. I hope you get what you want. :) What will some of your daily responsibilities be? I'm interested in hearing about them-I'm an ACNP student with a sub specialty in cardiology. :)

Totally understand your impatience (I'm not a patient person either) lol. Let us know how it turns out.

Question for you TraumaRUS, that doesn't have to do with this forum really. I haven't been on here for a while, and I just noticed it says senior member under my name. When did that appear? Just curious. :) Thanks.

I'm not traumaRUs, but here is the explanation from our tech support admin, Joe V:

these are the default User Titles for members: (automatic)

New Member 0 posts

Member 15 or more posts

Senior Member 50 or more posts

Platinum and Premium members can edit their User Title within their MyAccount. If this value is "reset" it will go back to the default User Titles (the above titles).

Having a custom User Title is completely up to the end-user. We just provide the option to you.

Registered Members will always have the User Title : Registered User regardless of post count.

There was an override for Premium members to always have a "Premium User" title - this is now fixed. We now use a ranking system - which is the Premium/Platinum/Staff image buttons that you see ... so we no longer need to override User Title for Premium Members.

Premium and Platinum members can change their User Title via the Edit Profile page.
