I recieved a letter for an interview to St Elizabeth and wondered if anyone had any insight on the interview? Also did anyone else apply for fall2010??
I interviewed Feb 17 and found out Tues March 2nd. I have not received my acceptance packet yet tho. During the interview they had told me to call them regarding my admission before i paid retainer fees at any other school. So once i learned i was accepted to Case I went ahead and called which they then told me i had been accepted. She said that acceptance packets had been mailed this past Monday, but my mail get forwarded from an old address so it takes awhile longer. So I ended up choosing St. E's over Case and will start in August. Good luck to you guys and hopefully will be meeting you in August.
I would definitely not lose hope. They told me they may only take a few of the first group of interviews right away and they will continue to evaluate the current interviews vs the former. They did say that if you were not accepted you would receive a letter. So consider yourself still in the running.
Still waiting from st Elizabeth but I applied to st Thomas school of medicine and I am already accepted for fall 2010. It is a 4 year program. Attending that school means my husband will have to quit his job and baby sit and home school our 2 children. If we sell our house and with loans I think we will have more than enough money to live off for 5 years. I just never thought about going to medical school before in my life. The program is tough, they admit about 300 people in first year and they graduate about 25. I am vey nervous but I think, that is what I want to do now.
That is an abysmal attrition rate. How do they justify that? It's just cruel to admit people that you have no expectation of graduating. I'd be leery about subjecting myself to such a program.
I really don't know anything about applying to medical school, but if that's what your want, isn't there a better way?
After some thought and a family
member dying I opted to change my path too. I don't want to spend two years getting treated like a dog for what to work more hours than I do now. If I get accepted I'm turning it down so Mandy you may have a chance. It takes a special person to do it and after spending alot of money I realized that's not me. so after a nice vacation to the caymen island I'm off to nurse practioner school. Sad it takes a death to put things in perspective congrats to all of you.
We have 3 surgical residents who graduated from that program. It is not a scam. According to them, they accept almost anybody who applies to program because that helps them to keep the tuition lower for everybody. If you are smart and hard working there is nothing to worry about. I always had good grades but I worry too much. I am not sure that I am smart enough for them. It will be a life changing event and I am willing to give my best shot
