Hello everyone! I thought I would create a thread to keep everyone interested in this cohort updated. I attended the open house on 10/18 and got a call for an interview yesterday. Has anyone else received calls for interviews or know what type of questions they would ask a new grad?

Have you had your interview? How did it go and what unit? I had an interview for mother/baby and now anxiously waiting for the peer interview

Yes! I had my interview for St. David’s Medical Center NICU on Thursday and received my offer on Friday. I only had to do a peer interview with a 6 person panel and it went well!
Every unit is different though. My boyfriend interviewed with the ICU on Monday and he had both manager and peer interview that same day. They told him he would hear back next week.

Congratulations!! How exciting! Was the peer interview only scenario questions or did they also ask interview type questions?

Thank you! They were A mix of both honestly. HCA drafts questions based on the assessment you took when you applied. Through that, the unit decides which questions are worth asking. If you look up St. Davids New Grad interview questions on Glassdoor they give an accurate list on the questions they may ask.

I saw this thread regarding the St. David's new grad program. My family is relocating from California to Austin next spr/summer and I graduate from nursing school next month, taking the NCLEX late Feb/early March. We were just in Austin two weeks ago looking at neighborhoods not far from St. David's hospital in North Austin.

I saw that you attended an open house for St. David's. I wanted to ask when they host the Open Houses and how to find out that information. Also, how the application process is for applying to their new grad program? I would like to attend their next open house and apply for a summer or Fall cohort start.

I'm out-of-state and hardly know anyone in Austin, nor how tight the job market is or isn't there in Texas, how new grads apply, etc., so any insight you give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help. I've learned that the best way to get information is to ask fellow nursing peers

Hey! I will be starting my NICU residency there this February too!!
