Since there seems to be a few of us going to work at SCH, I thought we could start our own thread.
I will be on neuro and start in July.

I will be starting on ortho/neuro in July also. I am very excited!! Although, it is going to be so nice to have these next few weeks to relax before going into the 'real world'!

I start on July 9 and will be in rehab, afternoon shift, and will float to ortho/neuro when there's a low census. We'll be living in Little Falls, and are moving from the Duluth area. I think there are 3 others from around here who I graduated with headed there, too.
Can I ask in the packets you received to start (orientation schedule, benefits, etc) was there a unit orientation schedule in there? I have the classroom schedule, but not for the unit. Anyway I was just looking that over and thought about it. I was going to call but figured I will need to wait until Monday! Have a nice weekend!
I didn't have a unit orientation, but did call and ask about it (about 2 weeks ago) - I was told that they weren't completed yet, but that I should expect to work one of the weekends and be on the floor the other days when there wasn't classroom training. Since I'll be commuting the first few weeks, I figure I'll just have scrubs handy for those days without classroom training and I'm keeping all my weekends open :) Hope that helps!
Hey thanks for the info! That is definitely good to know. I am going to be going through all of my stuff tomorrow and try to get all of the paperwork filled out, so maybe I will call and see if they have any updates? Thanks again!
I thought I'd share my news - I passed the NCLEX :)
:balloons: Congratulations!!! :balloons:
Isn't it a wonderful feeling?!
Congratulations :balloons::monkeydance: What a great feeling!
Has anyone gotten any more information about work schedules? I might call tomorrow and see if they are done yet..I would like to know about weekends and stuff because I have a lot of kid stuff to schedule around my work schedule.
Also, kind of a silly questions but what do we have to wear to general orientation? Scrubs or business casual stuff? The stuff I worry about..crazy:uhoh21:

I called about the work schedule about a week or two ago and she didn't have it done yet because the July schedule wasn't ready. I am not sure if this is for everyone but she asked me if I would be willing to work 12 hr shifts most of the time during orientation (I was hired for 8s) and also that I may only work every 3rd weekend during orientation instead of every other, but I don't know any more than that. I asked Brandon in HR what we should wear to orientation too haha and he said business casual. I think I am going to stop there tomorrow to drop off some paperwork and if I find out anything new I will post it!
Ok, three days and counting;) Anyone else feeling a little nervous as well as excited? I finally got my schedule. I am on neuro 7-3:30 on Friday so a little floor experience for me. Plus, I don't own a bunch of a dress clothes so wearing scrubs will be nice LOL
I did my clinicals in St Cloud so the general orientation will be a nice review for me. I don't have a weekend until the second weekend of August then I have 5 11-7:30 in a row...get them all done at once :)
Feeling exactly as you are - down to the clothes :) No schedule yet, though - I'll get that on Monday. Almost there! My husband's last day of work is tomorrow, then on Monday he starts his new role as stay-at-home dad. Then the move in 3 weeks - exciting but scary - in a good way. New baby, new career, new house, new town - woo hoo!
