St. Charles Community College Nursing Student

U.S.A. Missouri

Hi. I am new to this website - I just registered today.

I am starting the nursing program at St. Charles Community College this Fall semester. I have read over the program information for both the lab and lecture and it looks pretty intense, especially the lab.

I see that a lot of outside practice is required for the labs. If anyone is interested in being a partner with me for the sake of practicing their labs, please let me know.

My class schedule is as follows:

Monday and Wednesday Lecture: 8 to 9:50am

Tuesday Lab: 2 to 4pm

Thursday and Friday clinicals starting at 7am until noon

I am not employed so I am pretty open.

I would love to make new friends for school. Let me know if anyone is interested in getting in touch - especially if we have the same class/lab schedules.

a trip is a great way to unwind. My husband and I just got back from a little weekend getaway in Nashville (no kids!) and it was wonderful. I hope the nursing tools class is helpful, let me know what you think about it ydbush30. Maybe I will meet you at the Nursing Tools class in August Liz. (Btw, my names Nichole)

So today was the first day of the Nursing Tools class. I thought it was kind of awesome. It kind of made me think of things i would never have thought of. This program is gonna be NO JOKE! You have to make sure you have all kinds of backups in place so that you don't miss class. We are already talking about critical thinking and everything. I love it. I can't wait to hear what you guys think of it.

oh wow! Looking forward to going then, thanks for the update!

How funny, Nashville is where we will be going. :) few days there, and it should be nice.

I can't wait to take the class and find out for myself. Thanks for the update, ydbush

Wow, I'm glad to hear the tools for success class is good! I was afraid I was wasting my money but I'm glad it's worth it. I'm taking my class the beginning of aug in the early mornings..yay! I'm excited that I finally made the program, now i'm afraid I won't be able to make it through the next two years! I think it's definitly important to form study groups during school.. you can really learn a lot that way, plus it's a good way to get support as well. We all know the next two years will be really tough! Good luck to everyone! I'm sure we will all run into each other at one point or another! My name is Sara:) Has anyone bought their uniforms yet?

Abounding luck to you, too copegirl. I think it would be a great thing to form study groups, as well. Once semester sets in and we get to know one another, we can start thinking about doign that. this site is very helpful, already have had the pleasure of meeting some of you. :)

I have not bought my uniform yet. I am thinking you don't need it until clinicals in September, but will be buying mine in early August more than likely. Will have to see.

that's funny Liz, it was our first time to Nashville, we loved it and I want to go back although I think it will be at least 2 years now that school starts next month lol. I actually was able to get one uniform at school (used) after the last mandatory meeting but I want to buy another too. Study groups sound great once school starts. Looking forward to meeting you all! :)

Hey guys! The Nursing Tools class is so awesome! Today we went to the simulation lab and learned how to take a pulse. It was great. Its definitely worth the money and I think you guys will like it so much. One of the biggest lessons we learned is not to be negative about ourselves during this program. We WILL make it through this program. It'll be tough but we'll make it. I'm down for study groups too.

Wow, that's great, ydbush! I am so glad this class is well worth the money and time prior to regular classes. The ADN program for me will be such a blessing a wonderful start for me as I hope to continue with a BSN a few years down the road.

Study groups have never been a success for me in the past--only because noone has ever showed up for them, except for me. And it's hard coordinating stuff outside of class, especially if children or work, etc. also occupy one's time and resources. I am all for the study group, even on campus in lab or whatever or library/student center.

Have a nice day all :)

Hey guys just wanted to let you know that they have a lot of the nursing books in the bookstore already. They also have the syllabus available for $9.50 if you want to get a jump start on this!

I did get the syllabus. Tools for success is next week, and then buying books the following week....
