Is there anyone else possibly attending St Charles Community College in the fall for Nursing? If so what all have you heard about the program and etc? Or is there anyone that has completed the program and has a few things to say? Any help would be great! I applied last year so I'm pretty sure I'm getting in. Any help would be great!

Not yet, I'm getting pretty anxious too. It's driving me crazy lol. When did you apply? I hope that the new Spring start doesn't mean that they will reduce seats for the Fall.

I applied about a year ago. They called me in July asking if I could start last fall. But I still had Chem and AP2 to take so I passed. So I assume I'm at the top of the wait list. But who knows.

I just want to let everyone that has been looking that I spoke to one of the advisors today and she said that they still have yet to send out letters as they are still making decisions. :/

how are they still making decisions? Isn't it just the first 80 people that sign up?? That's so dumb!

Just sat down with an advisor. here's the scoop: starting jan 2018, they are switching to a point based admissions system. no idea what the points will be based on yet. no idea if people who have already applied will be grandfathered in, or if they will be subjected to the point system. letters will go out in october for the january start date. :(

Really not a ton of information yet, but they've just decided to switch so nothing has been made clear yet.

Wow... it's really inconvenient that they decided to switch now. Thanks so much for the information. In the meanwhile I guess I'll just keep on stalking the mailbox lol.

thanks you too! If I ever get a letter I will update!

Update: I received a letter last night explaining that they changed the admission procedure. As kbaum91 said it is now based on a point system. It takes into account your scores from the Hesi, A&P, GPA, and ACT. They did say that the final letters regarding our admission status would go out by the end of this week.:x3:

What the heck? How can they do that to people that have been waiting? I got an 89 on the HESI, an A in A&P, I only have a 2.9 cum GPA but I do have a bachelor's degree, I don't know if that counts for anything though. They didn't even take my act score (28) because I had a prior degree.... This is so frustrating!!!!

Idk, I'm really nervous now... I didn't do too hot on the Hesi, but my GPA is pretty good. I think they reduced the seats as well. I'm pretty sure it's on 48 seats available. I've also been looking into accelerated programs offered by SIUE and UMSL. Of course it would be wayyyyy more expensive, but it would only be a year and its BSN..
