For CA, you will receive a letter that you passed but no license.

apart from a letter you have a window of 3 years to provide one otherwise you have to reapply. This does not mean you have to sit the NCLEX again. I suggest a good read on here as this has been answered a few times and there is also a thread on CA
Rep,
thanks!!!
Yes the result is out ... passed it... now, what is to happen if i cant get a job in the USA in time, hence the SSN (a requirement to receive my license), in due time....what's going to happen to my license or to my NCLEX??...
pls help

Nothing happens to your license because you will not get one until you are in the US with a valid work permit and provide a SSN. If your file has expired after 3 years then you need to reapply but will not need to re sit the exam. You are affected by retrogression so would suggest having a read up on the threads about it here in the forum

You do not have a license in CA when you pass the NCLEX exam as a foreign nurse, there is not a number assigned to you until you are in the US and ready to begin work. So there is nothing to happen to a license that does not exist.
NCLEX exam is not administered by an Board of Nursing, it is just that they all use the same one exam and accept the results for licensure.
You do not need to retest, only resubmit an application for licensure if it expires.
to all you guys who took the time to read and replied to my query ...,
