Who else has applied for this?

Does anyone have any details when they will announce the awards? Will it show up on Estudent with the other state grants?

Has anyone gotten this in the past? if so how did it work? For example how was it awarded and used, how did it affect other grants or loans?

So MANY questions!!!

TIA

From what I understand, thousands apply for it, few get it.

It goes mostly to the students taking the ASN/BSN 4 year degree at universitites.

According to B-town IT, no one there has ever rec'd it and they are a 100% pass rate school.

oh.

I thought I had heard they allot money to each particpating school and the school divides it up.

Has anyone else heard this?

I received a notification from them two days ago telling me that I was not eligible. I didn't even apply for it. So my school must have. I do know students at Columbus have received it.

According to IT @ B-Town, no one ever got the IN. State Nursing Scholarship at their campus.

Icaria: Are you sure your not getting the SSCAI loans/grants that go along with your FASFA mixed up with the Indiana State Nursing Scholarship? This scholarship pays the whole lump sum and gives you a monthly stip-end you live on. Its a HUGE deal to get this scholarship and you must apply for it through your school. In return, you must work in the state of Indiana in a medical facility for 2 years.

I also got an award notice from SSACI last week but it was for the normal federal grants/loans.

The Nursing Scholorships are not even allocated yet and won't be until late August/Sept.

I applied for it also, but I was under the impression that each school got a certain amount and divided it up among the eligible students.

My IT campus never even mentioned the scholarship to us at orientation. I found it online when I was searching for grants.

Mrs. Frog, It states

SSACI 2008-2009 GRANT NOTIFICATION

You do not show financial need according to state program rules. See "General Eligibility Requirements" and "Information about State Grants' sections on reverse side.

Awards may be revised or withdrawn based on your actual enrollments an/or verification of you FAFSA and other application materials. (blah Blah Blah)

Does that help answer your question? As I said before I did not apply because I knew I would not get help...even though I need it, which stinks. I get to spend a long time paying back all the loans I am receiving now after graduation.

I think that is for state aid in general. The Frank Obannon Higher Education Award, etc. When you file a FAFSA you are automatically considered for grants from the state as well, so you don't have to send in a seperate application for that.

I got lucky this year and got 1127 per semester from the state.

I just recently sent in my application for the Indiana Nursing Scholarship Fund. That is through SSACI also.....I'm hoping I hear something soon!

BTW when I stated that I knew people that had received this I did not mean this year, but previous years. Sorry for any confusion

Thanks indymom...I had no idea. Learn something new all the time.

Welcome =)

I need to learn how to get off allnurses and get to bed at a decent hour. LOL

And still here I sit

And I thought it was just me
