I am applying to 3 schools this year for CRNA- 2 in Michigan and 1 in Ohio. I know this is a very competitive program to get into. Here are my qualifications.
3.8 GPA
Sigma Theta Tau Inductee
Valedictorian candidate
Certifications: -BLS
-ACLS
-TNCC
-PALS
-CCRN
Experience:
1 year Level 2 Trauma ED
2 years CVICU at Henry Ford Hospital (ECMO, IABPs, Impellas, cardiothoracic surgery)
-preceptor in both ED and CVICU
Enrichment:
-RR&R committee
-UGC
- lots of volunteer work in community (church, food banks, dog rescue)
* the only thing I am worried about is not having any formal shadowing experience in the last couple of years. I’ve seen CRNAs in the OR in nursing school, but haven’t 1:1 shadowed with a CRNA. I’ve been trying since February and it’s virtually impossible with COVID.
Do you think my experience and qualifications make me a strong candidate? I appreciate any input.

Your overall package sounds just fine to me. You will do great. You should know that right now, it is IMPOSSIBLE to shadow, anywhere, with anyone, due to COVID. I would not worry too much about that right now.
