  1. I am applying to 3 schools this year for CRNA- 2 in Michigan and 1 in Ohio. I know this is a very competitive program to get into. Here are my qualifications. 3.8 GPA Sigma Theta Tau Inductee Valedictorian candidate Certifications: -BLS -ACLS -TNCC -PALS -CCRN Experience: 1 year Level 2 Trauma ED 2 years CVICU at Henry Ford Hospital (ECMO, IABPs, Impellas, cardiothoracic surgery) -preceptor in both ED and CVICU Enrichment: -RR&R committee -UGC - lots of volunteer work in community (church, food banks, dog rescue) * the only thing I am worried about is not having any formal shadowing experience in the last couple of years. I’ve seen CRNAs in the OR in nursing school, but haven’t 1:1 shadowed with a CRNA. I’ve been trying since February and it’s virtually impossible with COVID. Do you think my experience and qualifications make me a strong candidate? I appreciate any input.
  2. Are there any nurses out there who have their Master's in Forensic Nursing? I am entertaining the idea of going back for my Master's either specializing in Forensic Nursing, or an FNP. I have tried to do some research, but there is not much out there for Master's prepared forensic nursing. As a forensic nurse with a Master's degree, what type of work do you do? What is your salary like? Hours & days a week that you work? Any other important things about forensic nursing that I should know about?
  3. Hi everyone! I am currently a junior in nursing school. I am starting to look at master programs, and crna school has always been on my list of things I want to do. I know crna school is very tough to get in to. During my freshman I struggled with my classes, especially anatomy and physiology. It wasn't that I didn't understand the material it was more the issue of test anxiety and a bad professor. I have read that crna school requires a minimum of a B in science courses. I received a C and a C+ in two courses. Overall I have a cumulative GPA of 3.8 and I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Is there a chance of me being accepted into a program?
