U.S.A. North Carolina

Hey Everyone,

I am just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as I am :) I am applying to wake techs nursing program this july 31st for spring 2018. Anyone who is or had , and got in have any insight with grades that got them accepted? And all that?

Yes, they said previously 3 people got kicked out for not being able to score 90 or higher on the med calc test, so something they really don't mess with.

wow thats nuts! Well if you have the ibsn i wouldn't mind looking at the book . Have you taken it yet or you take that come fall? Best of luck to you!

Yes I know and not yet it's on the first day in class in August. 978-0803624962 I ordered my on amazon.

And you do all the learning yourself? They do not have anything accessible on blackboard to help ?

No you have a few questions they put on there but that's it you do everything yourself. They have one class you can go to for 2 hours before the semester starts but I'm sure you won't learn much because it's so short and there will probably be a lot of people there. In my opinion you have to be really good at math for this stuff I just finished chapter 8 and for me it's rather easy but math is my best subject.

Hey everyone! I'll be applying as well with 165 with Teas and all. Application is already in, so just waiting around. Well not waiting, I actually accepted a new position as a PCT in the HV Hospital at Rex on the night shift. Preparing myself and setting the stage for acceptance. I currently work 8-5 as a phlebotomist but that schedule wont fly and neither will not working. 7p7a new shift 3 nights I choose to work Sun-Sun. This should keep my mind off things until that letter comes around in September. I've already begun med calculation questions since April and have begun a running list on quizlet for the medical terms. I've made friends with a few nursing students at wake who are on rotation at Rex and they seemed pretty whipped out, lol. They did confirm the 90 or better. Supposedly there is a test at the beginning of each semester that has to do with medication calculation.

Mrslaflin, CNA hey there and congrats on getting in!!!!! Do you plan on working during the school year? How much has supplies costs thus far if you don't mind me asking?

I work seasonally as a tax preparer. So far including vaccines etc I've spent about $350 out of pocket but some stuff was covered by my insurance. I got my pants and lab coat elsewhere because it's cheaper. Also it looks like books alone with be $1900+ tax, then you need other items from the bookstore and a nursing supply tote which is around $70 and you have to order you tops through them which for two of them for me will be around $70ish. All this isnt even counting what the actually tuition would be.

Jpeters i sent you a private message!

I hit you back rntobe1108

Geesh Mrslaflin! It adds up. Currently working in a hospital requires you to be up to date on lots of things like TB's once a year and flu shots. It's either have it or be suspended. Just recently received my Annual TB, so hopefully that will be good for them, and will have to get Flu shot for work when the next one comes around in a few months. Are you excited otherwise!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

So I just finished my last prerequisites a few days ago and took the TEAS today. I'm getting a little bit nervous. Without the TEAS I have 154 points. I took the TEAS through PSI so I have to wait "48 business hours" for my score... I feel like I did pretty well on it though and I'm fairly certain I got at least 12 points for it, if not 20, which would give me 166 points total or 174 points. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if I had the latter lol.

Thats great í ½í±í ¼í¿¾ keep us posted. I applied with

165 points. That's pretty tough having to wait as oppose to right away
