Question:
Does anyone has a complete list of what does need to be sent to NursingCAS?
I understand the transcripts, letters of reference (electronic), as well as the app fee goes directly to them. Do we still need to complete the writing sample portion or just the personal statement that is available on the NursingCAS?
Do I also need to send my letter of good standing from my previous nursing school and my request of transfer statement to NursingCAS or to SM?
I sent an email out the a counselor, but I would just like to know because I am very confused...
I also live in Sac, work FT & have a son, so there is no opportunity to go to a counseling appointment unless I take off work.
Thank you!!
For the classification of classes, there's a regular and nursing option. Assuming we're going for our second BA or BS, wouldn't all these be considered regular classes?
Or, should I interpret "nursing" as SMU pre-reqs?
Also, does the subject classification really matter? I was in a humanities major so it seems like everything I put is other courses.

nursingCAS told me that unless the course title has the world "nursing" in it, the safest bet is to just list it as a regular class. I turned my application in a few weeks ago, and they were really nice about fixing all the errors I made in terms of misclassifying courses, etc. For instance, I took a lot of various field study courses during college that had the same title and nursingCAS classified it all as "repeat" for me.. but anyways, they're good about fixing errors for us :)
San Mateo...
I live like 3 blocks away from SF SMU so I was really bummed not to get in.
On top of that, I went to UC Santa Cruz when grades were optional - meaning we could elect letter grades or P/NP with a teacher evaluation. I love reading how stellar I was through my evals but it does nada for me in terms of post-bacc school! If I knew I'd be going back to school, I would have chosen letter grades! UGH.
Good luck this time around!
Hey UCLover610, I would have replied to you privately, but I am not eligible to do that yet. I have to post at least 15 times to be eligible. I'm sure I will vent at least 15 times during this next week, so don't worry! Hahaha. Great running into you on here too. Let's stay in touch. Yes, let's commute together if (when) we get into SMU San Mateo. LOL. :)
Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and saw this thread. Congrats on applying and wish you all the best. I plan on applying to Samuel Merritt ABSN in September. I had all transcripts and letters of reference completed and then I found out about the NursingCAS. GRR...I would hate to ask my professor again for another letter but I was wondering...how many letters of reference did you submit? Who did you ask? I have one done from when I volunteered at a hospital. Thank you.

Hi Alyssa! I'm new to this site too, and had pretty much (unfortunately) had your same experience. Can you let me know what eventually happened with your situation? Did you have to go back to your schools to get the transcript forms signed, or did CAS let you send everything over? I'm curious as deadlines are approaching for me... Thank you! : )

Under "Professional Experience", are we supposed to list every significant job we've ever had, even unrelated to nursing?
I've been with my company for 6 years now, but before that I had a million table-waiting jobs... I wonder if they want to see all that. Hmmm...
