Question:
Does anyone has a complete list of what does need to be sent to NursingCAS?
I understand the transcripts, letters of reference (electronic), as well as the app fee goes directly to them. Do we still need to complete the writing sample portion or just the personal statement that is available on the NursingCAS?
Do I also need to send my letter of good standing from my previous nursing school and my request of transfer statement to NursingCAS or to SM?
I sent an email out the a counselor, but I would just like to know because I am very confused...
I also live in Sac, work FT & have a son, so there is no opportunity to go to a counseling appointment unless I take off work.
Thank you!!
I must say I do not like this application process.
What are you guys putting down for credit hours? I attended Sac State and some community colleges here, and they do not use credit hours, just units. I called Sac State and the reisgistar said they do not a conversion rate to use. I am so fustrated with this!

OH my goodness. I did not even pay attention to that!!!
Ok, I think on the Sac State transcripts, the credit hours will be equivalent to the Gpts...
I thought we were simply supposed to enter our number of credits per class, but hours, but for a 3 credit class, I know the number of credit hours is 12, so is Credits X 4= Hours, WAY TOO MUCH!
BTW, thank you for pointing that out, now I have to go change 8,000 classes (I'm exaggerating, but still...)
& Yes, I don't love it either.
*******UPDATE- I just called nursing CAS and I spoke with a CSR and she said that you only need to convert if your transcript does not. So I had her review Sac State and CSUB and she said both do. So entering the number of credits in fine.
WHEW, got a little nervous there.

Yes, very annoying...Here is what NursingCAS wrote me when questioned them:
I am looking at your transcripts and your credits are already in semester hours. Your transcript states that units are equivalent to hours. You do not need convert any credits, you only need to enter the exact credits that are on your transcript from California State University Sacramento.
Still a little confused? Does this mean 3 credits for a 3 unit class or 12 credits??

I didn't understand what she meant, but I had her review my entries and she said mine were fine and I had entered my credits and not my hours. I think they may need to clarify for future reference, because if we have questions, I am sure others do as well...
I like the paper version, I understand this is more efficient, but I also think there needs to be a bit more lee-way on errors in the application if people are initially confused...
So, did you put put 3 credits for 3 unit classes or 12 credits. I'm sure your going to say 12 credits but I just want to be sure. Lol
I also prefer the paper version, much more simple. I don't understand why they didn't start this process earlier and not 2 months before the deadline. I still have to take my TEAS and finish my personal statement... okay I'm going to stop complaining now. lol

LOL, its okay, complain now, so you can fix the issues now, better than later. No I actually have units in for my classes NOT credit hours...
Ex: I have 3 units entered in the system for english
or
I have 5 units entered for A&P
She said I didnt need the quality points/grade points/ credit hours...

So does that mean for a 3 unit course, we put 3 units rather than 12 credit hours? My transcript only indicates the number of units for the course, and the amount of credit hours received (ie. if it is a 3 unit class, but I got an A- it becomes 11.1 rather than the full on 12 credit hours). On the nursingCAS instructions, it does say "Enter the number of credit horus ATTEMPTED, not the number earned" so that's why I multiplied the units for the course by 4 for everything to get credit hours....
Is that what you two did as well then? or just left it as 3 units..

Originally that is what I did, multiplied the units by 4, but they want us to write what the amount is under units on our transcript. My understanding is that credits are equivalent to units, just different wording.

ill see if my letter of rec ppl will do electronic then. it does sound a lot more efficient this way :) with this new CAS system, you think there will be even more applicants than before??
since CAS is a generic application, do individual progams send out secondaries like how it is for med school? i know SMU didnt do that when they still used paper application..
