I figured I'd start this since there wasn't one yet, even though it's pretty early!
I just took the Kaplan test today and got an 85% overall and have a 3.95 GPA. What do you guys have?
Since there are no letters of recommendations needed or experience this year, I'm nervous that our admittance is just based on our Kaplan score and GPA! Anyone else nervous about that?
I'm going to submit my application soon since everything is done!
Did it take long to receive the Liability Insurance for any of you? i just filled it out yesterday online, but i was wondering how long it might take, i just want to turn in everything already, and having the physical exam form missing is really stressing me out. >.>
I think the insurance took about a week. You can turn in the yellow form of the finger print application to prove you've applied, and then when you get the card, turn in a copy. Tuition wise, first semester cost a little over $3400. My books were about $700. ~$25 for 2 name tags, ~$85 for 2 sets of scrubs, $40 for shoes, $25 for NAU polo (that might only be a requirement for Tucson) ~$90 for a stethoscope, ~$60 for a BP cuff, hemostats, bandage scissors, pen light, and watch. I bought most my stuff online so depending on what/where you buy, things are gonna vary. But hopefully that gives you a bit of an idea!
And then the $30 whatever for insurance, $65 for fingerprint clearance and whatever health requirements you have to pay out of pocket.... It's expensive, but remember it's an investment in your future!
Laura did you turn your paperwork in before you got your Fingerprint Clearance Card back? I have all my paperwork ready to turn in for my physical, but wasn't sure if I should turn it in before I got my card back![/quote']I already had my fingerprint clearance card from my substitute teaching. Hand in what you have. Joanne goes over with you all, that is required and where to get it.
When I did insurance I was able to print out a copy right away! I got another copy in the mail after a few days, but it was the exact same thing.
I talked to my advisor ----------------- and he said we could turn in all the paperwork without the clearance card, since he knew it was out of our hands for how much time it would take. I was worried about it!
Now I just need to get my CPR training done. I thought my current one was good for a few more months, but I just realized it expires this month! Whoops.
Laura, I got my scrubs last week and got all my other 'essentials' in the mail today! Doesn't it feel more real?! It's so exciting.
