Hi everyone:
I wanted to start a thread to see all of us that would be applying for the Spring 09 term so that I could other people to pull my hair out with j/k. I should have waited to take the Hesi, because I feel like it's going to be a long three months. :chuckle
Where will you be applying?
What is your GPA or point totals?
What is your fear?
What is Plan A, B, C, D ?
I took this from my other post in the other Spring 09 Hopefuls thread:
Where are you applying?
Brookhaven Community College
What is your GPA and/or points for your school of choice?
The program goes off of points & I have 31.65. The lowest accepted last round was 27 I believe. They added interviews to the mix this time & they're taking the best 40 out of 60.
When is your schools deadline?
September 30th.
When does the acceptance letters go out?
We get e-mails on November 17th.
What is your plan A, B, C...?
A - Brookhaven
B - I have no clue. I know I will be working somewhere in the hospital though! -lol-
C - Maybe a LVN program or something? I don't know!
Hey all! I'm applying for spring 09 at TCC. I applied for fall, but was not accepted because I was not done with Micro, even though I did make an A. TCC also had several mistakes on my transcript which may or may not have kept me out even if I had already been done with micro. So check and double check. I have a 3.8 GPA and scored a 94 on my TEAS.
Corky - I can't help but wonder if we had the same chem instructor. I made a B, but barely. I don't think I understood anything he said all semester.
My plan B and C if I don't get into nursing school? Transfer to UTA and get my bachelor's and eventually get a master's degree. What will I do, have no idea, but I am getting too old to screw around with this. If they won't accept me with my grades and test scores, it's not worth it. I love nursing and think I would be good at it. It would kill me to move on, but that's my plan.
Good luck everyone!!!
Hmmmm no I had a female at UTA. She was BRILLIANT and normally taught higher-end chem and physics. I honestly do not think she knew how to "teach down." Plus she had a horrifically strong accent, but not as bad as my lab TA did.
Anyways I hope we both get in! I'm so excited and nervous- was the TEAS hard? I have not taken mine yet.
That's so funny. That was exactly like my instructor at TCC. Extremely smart. Had I been a brilliant chem major I'm sure he would have been great.
I didn't think the TEAS were that hard; however, there was some physics stuff on there and I've never taken physics, but it was only a few questions. There is a little bit of all the sciences on there. Get the study guide and you should be fine.
I'm applying to Kingwood for the Spring 09 class (evenings). I ,in fact, took my paperwork in today. My points are 11.50 but it, of course, depends on how everyone else does point wise. The receptionist said that last year the lowest they accepted was 11.2 but it again, depends on the new crop of applicants. She said it takes 6-8 weeks from the Sept 15 deadline before we'll find out one way or the other. I'll be taking pharmacology this fall. I'm putting all my eggs into this one basket and I have no plan if I don't get accepted. Good luck to everyone. Let the waiting begin.

Hi there! A fellow Kingwood applyer! I'm also going for evenings. Wouldn't it be cool if we both get accepted. I'm hoping that all of us that are applying from this site will get accepted! I dropped off my application last Thursday and am striking the days off my calendar until September 15th :pI too am putting all my eggs in a basket. I have prayed about it and am leaving it alone. If it will be, it will be! What side of town do you live on if you don't mind me asking?
Hi all! This is my first post..........I don't even know if there is an "Introductions" forum (probably is) so you'll probably be seeing an intro there later.
Where will you be applying?
I applied to Quad C (Collin College) in McKinney, TX. Deadline was July 31 an letters are *supposed* to go out September 15th. Man, is it ever hard to concentrate on classes with the anxiety of acceptance looming over me!
What is your GPA or point totals?
Quad C looks at two.
GPA of pre-reqs. only (A&Ps, Micro, & Stats.)=3.75
GPA of all support courses & pre-reqs.=3.87
Points total=15/16 (I lost a point on the PSB test: 5/6)
What is your fear?
That I don't get in
I have everything done...........all support classes, eveything. This is for an ADN, so I plan to transfer to TWU for the "bridge" program for my bachelor's. With that said, I am now just taking other courses I need for that.......English, etc.
What is Plan A, B, C, D ?
That's my plan A and there is no plan B except to keep applying. I *think* I have a pretty good shot based on my points. But you never know..........so here I am anxiously waiting for the letter to arrive. I may throw up before I open it.

Stacy,
You never know. You may just get accepted. I have read many threads on here about students applying for the what if, and the what if turned into a Yes! Either way, we are rooting for you!
