Hi everyone:

I wanted to start a thread to see all of us that would be applying for the Spring 09 term so that I could other people to pull my hair out with j/k. :p I should have waited to take the Hesi, because I feel like it's going to be a long three months. :chuckle

Where will you be applying?

What is your GPA or point totals?

What is your fear?

What is Plan A, B, C, D :p?

Hi Texas Tee! I will also be applying for the spring. After putting in much thought between my fiance and I, I have decided to pursue TCC's program for a few reasons: one I can pay for it out of pocket (yay for no loans!), and two I hear it is a pretty good program. I took my first 2 yrs at TCC doing an honors program, and with the competition to get into Universities many of them prefer students that have completed at least a yr there if they do not have a really high GPA.

My pre-req GPA will be a 3.65 after I complete chem in a few wks, and my science GPA a 3.5. I had applied to UTA's program but being a transfer and having a C in chem (yay for profs that hardly speak english! :banghead:) was what kept me out I'm sure. I did decide to stay at UTA and took pharm, patho and concepts. So I will be applying for that program again if I do not get into TCC. (UTA's spring app was due June 1st- before I could retake chem)

I will be applying to Kingwood and maybe Cy-fair's program. I was going to apply to San Jacs evening program but after I called them today, they said they will not be offering it this time around because they have do not have enough staff. They have a really good program so I was pretty bummed about that. All of UTs programs are extremely hard to get in, but with your GPA you have a great shot if you do decide to apply again. I hear that TCC is an awesome program as well, great NCLEX pass rate also! Yay for no loans for you!! My job may pay for my program of study at any college I choose to pursue so I am very lucky, however they require a committment from you. I love this place but really want to be an L&D, PACU or ER nurse and the only one here is an ER.

When is your program deadline and when do you guys find out. Their deadline is not until September and no one finds out until November :no:

LOL! Our deadline is in September as well, but according to the website we are not notified until DECEMBER!!! AAARRGGGH......

Nope, it's too far for me to drive. I thought my wait was bad, but at least we have each other to :banghead:. LOL. Have you turned in your app yet, I can't because my transcripts have not been evaluated. That sucks!

Hi Texastee this is goo123 I have a 11.1 I will be applying to kingwood, cyfair, north harris and all the rest including the Lvn program I'm so nervous I just hope that many don't apply I know an 11.1 is not that high but im just hoping I get lucky I been working to just get this far for so long I can't sleep at night just thinking about how many will apply. November is to long to wait.

Hi Goo! Nice to meet you! I too have been working on my pre-reqs on and off since 2001. I even have almost all except for two pre-reqs for the BSN program. November is soooo long to wait, have you turned in your application already? I can't apply yet because my transcripts have not been evaluated so the app system won't let me get pass the first screen. I'll wait and check twice a week until they are! Good luck to you!

Hi, everyone! I'm a spring 09 hopefull too!

I'm only applying to UTA. I can't move or commute too far for school, and I already have a general associate's degree so I can't get anymore financial aid or else I'd be applying to TCC.

I have a 3.75 science and a 4.0 pre-req GPA. Last semester was my first at UTA--I took Concepts, Tech. Writing, Develop. Psyc. and A & P II. All of the rest of my hours are from community college. I just took the HESI A2 and did well on it. I hope it's all enough to get in.

I don't really have a plan B. I guess if I don't get in, I'll try again the next semester and then after that I have no idea.

I applied to my local CC. I carry a 4.0 and have 64 points.

Plan a) I will be taking A&P 1 and ethics this fall, A&P 2 with nursing classes in the spring(fingers crossed), and micro in the summer.

Plan b) A&P 1 and ethics fall 08. A&P 2 and micro Spring 09. Nursing classes Fall 09.

Plan c) I have been think about adding classes that will count towards a BSN to plan A and B.

I am a single mother of five, so I really want plan A to work. We will find out by the 15th of November. I hope sooner. My fear is child care or I should say the lack of it. I have to find a few back ups, and such.

Hey everyone,

I am applying to Brookhaven in October. I have 3.5 pre-req gpa. I am currently studying for my HESI ad plan to take it the third week of September. I have also taken A&P II and Dev. Psychology for my support courses. This fall I am taking Pharm, Patho, Dosage, and EOL Issues. IF I don't get in for this spring, I'll take Micro in Spring '09 which will be the last class available without being admitted to the program. Hopefully I will get a good enough score on the HESI next month to earn a spot for interviews. They are bringing them back for the next semester. I've done marketing and sales for the last 5 years so I think I can get through that pretty well. Worst case I will be in next Fall. If not, I will look for an LVN school somewhere I guess.

I am working on my app right now for TCC. I really do not expect to get accepted for the Spring (I still lack Micro and English 2 and need to re-take AP2) - but I thought what-the-heck... I'll give it a shot anyway. lol
