Hi everyone!

I was just wondering were there any others who were applying for Spring 2013. I was in nursing school many moons ago (2003 el centro), and have decided to take care of unfinished business. I'm super excited about the new points system. I actually hope to attend Northlake--we live in Coppell. I'll be taking HPRS 1204 this summer there as well. Is anyone else petitioning the five year limit on their science courses? I Have all the Science courses complete except HPRS so I'm petitioning since I majored in Biology (UTA). I'm also hoping they will take my Calculus I in lieu of college algerbra. Lots to do! Prayerful that God shows favor on us all!

I also do not plan to be satisfied with only an ADN because of future employability. I figure I can do 2 years to complete ADN and then another year at either UTArlington or TWU to finish my BSN. TWU has a 100% online ADN to BSN program. Wouldn't that be awesome?

I also applied to TWU this semester but if I have my choice, I would do El Centro brecause the first semester I would be taking 10 hours vs. 16 hours at TWU. That extra 6 hours will just about do me in as far as being able to work outside of school; and with three kids, I HAVE to earn something! So it may take me longer to get there, but if I can be employed in the process, it makes ALL the difference.

Congrats on applying! This being my 2nd go-round with El Centro, I know the hoops through which we are required to jump just to complete the app! Best wishes to you!

So I'm not crazy to be attempting this with 3 kids? Lol. How old are your kiddos? Mine are 4, 18months and 8. Did I mention this is literally making me ill. I mean I thought I had 26 points but heck I feel like maybe I only had 3 at this point. I need this part to be over with and soon.

That's part of my problem (besides the waiting, which is AWFUL) is that I am not 100% sure how many points I actually had going in. Some of my transfer courses were ify because of prefixes not matching up and all that, so my points total could be +/- 2 points. I wish we could call in and find out exactly how many points we are being considered on our applications. Boo!

Anyone have any new news???

On the ed plan, if you got one, it said how many points you had on it. :) In case that helps at all.

WHAT??!!? What's an ed plan?!?! I got the degree audit if that's what you are talking about. But half of the classes I DID have weren't included on that thing the first time around, so I don't know how much I trust it. Plus there was that whole "provide documentation to have classes considered" aspect of the application, so who knows how much consideration they actually give those situations.

Anywho...just have to wait it out, I guess. Thanks for the help! :)

my ed plan really I'm looking at it and it doesn't include points..... so who knows. I agree I wish we could call and ask how many point we were assigned. lol the more i read here the more stressed I get.

The ed plan is a form you can submit to el ccentro. *** :D ITS NOT REQUIRED DON'T WORRY!!! :D**** But you submit you rtranscripts, and the plan and they come back with what they would have on file for you and what else you would need to complete. It says something about it on the application. It's fine if its not done, its not like you dont get accepted or anything.

I had to get it done a little way through because there was an issue with the system and 2 of my transcripts were lost going straight to admissions from the post office so I drove there, gave them an educational plan request form and my transcripts and they recorded all the info for me.

I love disorganization of any kind -_-. Regardless though, like I said don't freak out. Not required or anything.

Oh idk then, I saw my points listed somewhere...I cant remember where. I could have sworn it was at the bottom or something. Idk maybe im loopy too. I do agree that I will be ready to tackle the mailman.

Ha ha Morgan - no way are you crazy! Our kids will grow up knowing we are HEROES! :)

My kids are 13, 12 and 6. I wish I had gone back to school when they were younger, but I was afraid of missing the "important stuff". Well, now is "important stuff" also...so I'm just hoping to have my BSN before my oldest goes to college...ha ha. We will do this though and our kids will be our biggest cheering section all the way - mine have been already! I hope I will meet you in January!!

I hope so. I just pray I don't go crazy doing school , working part time and managing kids but it's been done before.

Who here is shooting for northlake? I hear it's not as bad as el centro though it's the same program..... And I wonder why that is.
