Spouses of Travelers

Published

My husband and I have been giving traveling a thought for sometime in the not-so-distant future. I have seen a lot of ads and posts regarding travel nursing, but no one ever mentions what the non-nurse spouses do. Do the couples spend the assignment apart, with the spouse staying at the home base and continuing his or her regular job? We wanted to travel together, but I'm certain the pay can't be so great that it would support both of us. Do some of your spouses travel with you? If so, do they find temporary work in the new town, do they do their regular work remotely, etc?

I am really looking forward to hearing from y'all!

I am retired at the age of 47/ My wife told me that "You support the family the past 25 let me do the next" I say He## yes!!. We enjoy the sites on her days off and i take care of the house. She doesn't touch a dish ,laundry or a vacuum cleaner!! THATSA MY JOB!!

Specializes in med/surg, rural, ER.

My husband owns a home business. All he needs to do his job are people to talk to, a phone, our computer and the internet. It is an ideal situation!

I have my spouse and my son with me. Spouse is a house hubby and son usually gets a job at a fast food restaurant. Home/Online businesses are also great for a mobile family. If there is a will there is a way!!!
