which hospitals in NV offer visa sponsorship for new nursing grad? if the RN came from a US-based school, would that make a difference? my internship was in med-surg.

Unfortunately training in the US makes no difference to finding a petitioner if a foreign national. Currently all are affected by retrogression and will move this to the International forum where there are many threads on this subject. Only way at the moment is maintain student visa even after you have completed OPT (that is if you qualify for OPT)

Since you are asking for international info - I will move this to the international forum where you will get more answers. Nevada nurses will not be able to answer your questions.
ok thanks....i was just wondering if any nevada RNs have / had co-workers / friends who were sponsored by a vegas hospital. it always starts with word-of-mouth.

The issue is that there are no visas available and we do not expect it to open up for you for more than five years. So it is going to be hard to find an employer to petition you for the green card.
Sponsorship means a temporary work visa and those are not available for new grads in the US in most cases. The H1-B visa requires that one is considered a specialist in their area, and as a new grad, one is not considered a specialist. This type of visa is already being investigated by the US government as many did not meet the requirements in the past for them per the actual requirements set out.
Jobs can be usually word of mouth for an American, but is completely different when one is from out of the country and will require a visa to work here.
