I will be sending my official Spring 2013 app in on 7/20! All pre-reqs completed except for micro (which I am already registered for in the fall before the program would begin), and a GPA of 3.78 on my pre-reqs. Wish I hadn't been such a goof off back in 1997 when I took Composition I! I am also an employee with Baycare and applying for the EAYL progam. I was just praying to find other people out there, in a similar situation, a little support and just knowing we aren't alone in this nerve wrecking path would be nice.
Congrats everyone that is amazing!!!!!!! I am waiting patiently for my SPC email today and I am attending the HCA EAYL fair tomorrow. Could you both share what your interviews were like for BayCare EAYL? what kind of questions were you asked? I've been a housewife/mom for many years, and have recently gone back to upgrade my skills, so its been eons since I've interviewed. Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks, and congratulations to bothe of you!! Your journey is beginning!!!!

I think the most important questions were ones like:
Have you had a situation with a patient in the past where there was a disagreement and how did you handle it?
Have you had a situation where you've had a disagreement or ethical problem with the way things were handled with a nurse or manager and how did you handle it?
One of the big things they are looking for is how you would handle a busy situation. And one of the best answers listed by other nursing schools that list their difficult questions and best answers was to delegate out duties between yourself and other coworkers in order to most efficiently complete all the tasks.
I would also bring any letters of recommendation that you have received. And if you haven't had any ask someone to write you one ASAP.
I also wrote a application essay stating why I wanted to be a nurse and what in my life led me to want to become a nurse as well as I mentioned skills I have that I thought would be beneficial to me once I became a nurse.
