SPC Spring 2013 hopeful, anyone else biting their nails?!?!

I will be sending my official Spring 2013 app in on 7/20! All pre-reqs completed except for micro (which I am already registered for in the fall before the program would begin), and a GPA of 3.78 on my pre-reqs. Wish I hadn't been such a goof off back in 1997 when I took Composition I! I am also an employee with Baycare and applying for the EAYL progam. I was just praying to find other people out there, in a similar situation, a little support and just knowing we aren't alone in this nerve wrecking path would be nice.

Does anyone know how the selection process works for the day/night program?

All I know is that the interview and your recommendations, from your manager and/or any others you provide in whatever form (mine were in the form of four letters of recommendation, from various professors, physicians and nurses) are considered greatly, more so than just GPA and class performance. I had that same question, so last semester I emailed the head of education for the EAYL program and received that answer.

Just wanted to give everyone an update:

I have not heard anything from TR (she is the one who will be contacting us on their decisions), but DC will be out of her office all of this week and will be returning next Monday. Hopefully we will know something when she returns! Everyone cross their fingers!

The waiting is killing me, trying not to freak out until we find out! How is everyone else holding up? I know my husband and kids cannot wait until I find out because I have been a bit of a bear and on edge since my interview LOL! Best of luck to everyone.

I know how you feel I'm going crazy checking my email like every half hour! I really hope we find out something soon.

So I just checked my school email and I got an invitation to spc to interview for a new program they have that is affiliated with a couple hospitals. My question is, did they send this to all 500(approx) applicants?

I'm not sure if they sent it to everyone, but I got it as well. Thank you for posting this because I had not checked my St. Petersburg college email in a while.

I almost had a heart attack because I thought it was a letter stating acceptance or non acceptance to the program and now I'm dying more than ever to get the letter!

I did the same thing when I opened my email. I think they must of sent it out to everyone. Is anyone going to attend the meeting? For anyone that has gone through the EAYL interview could you tell me what kind of questions you were asked? Thanks!

I did not receice an email as previously mentioned, but I did not apply through the EAYL program. Still waiting for the positive news.

PmRn have you ever talked with a counselor about EAYL? I applied just to SPC but at one point I spoke with a counselor and she gave me some paper work about EAYL . Maybe they just sent that letter to students who have inquired about the program in the past.

My email was from SPC Health Education Center. I don't think SPC can tell who has applied to EAYL. The difficult thing is I am an employee of BayCare & I don't know how it would work if I was accepted by the Northside Hospital or Largo Medical center. I am planning on attending the meeting either way, the program is so competitive it's always good to have options. I believe we should know if we have been accepted by the EAYL Baycare program before the Nov. 2 meeting/interviews with the 2 new programs (or at least right after that I would hope). Knowing that we have options eases the insanity a bit:-)
