Hello i currently have all my pre-reqs for the nursing program except for Microbiology which I'm taking in the Fall. My GPA is only a 3.5 so I know my chances of getting in are really low. Does anyone have any information to better my chances of getting into the program in January, Since I will be done with all my pre-reqs I really want to get in ASAP. Ive heard about EAYL but the website says they arent taking anymore applications - does anyone know how that works or if you must be a Baycare employee first?
Also, would i have a better chance if i went to ptec first to get my LPN then apply to the LPN to RN Transition program at SPC?
Thanks :)

I work for Baycare at Mease Countryside Hospital as a PST and the application information, dates, etc., is usually not made available to employees until 2 weeks after the initial date of SPC application acceptance dates. Example: The SPC application time frame to apply for fall 2012 was March 1 - May 15, the notification, sent by email, to Baycare employees that the EAYL program would begin accepting applications on March 16. The average time frame for any information relating to RN EAYL progam application dates is typically 2 weeks behind the initial date of application acceptance by SPC. It is true that Baycare employees are considered before the general public, but that does not mean individuals who are not employed by Baycare will not be considered. If you have any other questions let me know. I will try to remember to let you know when the EAYL info is available, but feel free to reply to me around July 16 (or sooner) so that I am reminded to pass along the information to you! Best of luck!
EAYL application period is open to the public as of Sept. 14, 2012. Call (727) 462-EARN to find out how to apply. Good luck
