Published

Hi all,

I was looking for a post about SPC's fall 2020 nursing program and one hadn't been posted yet. So I figured I would make one. I know the application only opened a few days ago, so I might be getting a head of myself LOL. I applied early Saturday morning what about you guys?

Also, good luck to everyone!:)

I applied but did not get in. I need to approve my GPA. So im retaking teo courses I have C in. I'm sure I can get As in them.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to make sure I’m understanding this correctly, so after I picked my favorite clinical locations, they will enroll me in my classes based on what is available according to my class rank?

I think so, based on what I’ve read in previous threads. I was accepted through BayCare so our process was a bit different (we didn’t have clinical options) but I want to say it was about a week and a half after the notices of intent were due that I saw I was assigned to a cohort in mySPC, so hopefully y’all will find out soon?

!

Yes, they have designated teachers for each clinical location. Typically, the teachers will be partnered with two other teacher when you are in a class at HEC, and only one for each clinical site. I believe each location will have between 10-12 Students. Depending on your GPA is how you will be chosen for each clinical site.

The first eight weeks of lvl 1 will be in classroom. After completing all required skills and a math test you will be allowed to start Clinicals.

Did everyone get the clinical locations they wanted? I chose the VA in the morning and just found out I got it. I’m pretty pumped!

Yep! Same got fist pick.

I got Encompass Hospital for PM

Great! Is that the one you wanted? I was debating doing PM as well, but decided against it.

Yup! I’m pretty excited! I picked PM because I didn’t want to have Summer off and because I can still work a part time job a few hours throughout the week.

Greetings,

Jusy out of curiousity how do you apply through Baycare? Is it part of SPC? Does it require different requirements? Is it for everyone?
