Hello, I will be starting my "waiting" semester this fall for the RN program to start next spring; so I figured I could use this time to sharpen my spanish skills. I am a spanish native speaker; and was looking at either taking spanish 3N or "legal" english-spanish interpretation class. I would love to take something like medical interpretation, but none of the local colleges in my area offer offer such class . Anyhow, which option would be the best? :)

Hello, I'm continuing to take the bsn pre-reqs as suggested by my counselor. She suggested I take Spanish instead of philosophy...I laughed saying isn't that "cheating" since I as well am a native speaker. She said many students take Spanish 1 for an easy A! I told her I don't want a basic class that will bore me. So, I emailed the professors that teach Spanish 1,2,&3 and they said Spanish 3 would be best for me. I'll be taking that in the Fall and Spanish 4 in the Spring.
Perhaps talking with a counselor would guide you in making the right decision.

Man I wish I could take Spanish instead of philosophy. In my school they don't qualify for the same credits.
LOL Yeah, I heard spanish professors sometimes disapprove of native speaking students in their beginner classes, and move them to at least the intermediate level. Anyhow, that's good for you, I am doing the same as well! I am sure it will make us better nurses!!!
