Soy Formula in healthy infants

Hi. My daughter is 8 months old and I've started giving her soy formula, was breastfeeding before. I've been reading that cow's milk formula is better and soy can have too many hormones and Manganese. Now I'm worried. I thought Soy was fine, we give it to babies at work, but upon reading about it on the internet, I'm getting scared I've chosen the wrong formula!!

Any advice or knowledge is needed and appreciated!!

Thanks!

Please contact your pediatrician or NP for advice about choosing an infant formula.

Soy is usually not the first choice for a healthy infant. It was typically reserved for use in infants who were lactose intolerant, but with the lactose-free formulas that are now available, it is not used as often any more.

One of the disadvantages of soy is that it is actually a fairly common allergy in young children.

Your pediatrician can ease your mind with a quick phone call :)

but upon reading about it on the internet,

Those words strike fear into the heart of any medical professional ;). Agreed with Jolie - please call your baby's HCP.
