Recently got accepted into the program and was wondering if there’s anyone else here that has? Was also wondering if anyone has any insight into the program, when classes are, when the transition class starts, etc. Thanks!
I'm definitely nervous, too! It's been a long time since I graduated from my VN program, so I just keep trying to push any anxious thoughts out of my head about being in a nursing program again.
I also heard from the nursing office that we will be starting our classes in February. I'm not sure of the exact date.
Let me know if anyone starts a FB group! Looking forward to meeting you all at the orientation!
Hi All,
I know this thread is over a year old and you all are probably finishing up the LVN-RN step up @ SWC- I hope everyone had a great experience!
I am planning on applying to the upcoming application cycle and I have not seen much specifically from LVN-RN students/future students for this program.
I was just wondering if any of you would like to share your stats (TEAS score, GPA, etc) that got you accepted into the program as well as some specifics about what the schedule has looked like (times, how many days a week, etc). I realize these things change because of clinicals but just trying to get a better idea as I know SWC has both a day and evening program. Unfortunately SWC does not seem to have a advisor/counselor that is specific for the nursing dept. so the person I spoke w/ did not seem to have many specifics about recent stats or a ball park on schedule.
Any feedback would be appreciated ?

Hi everyone! Happy to hear you guys got accepted ☺️ I’m wondering if we should start a facebook group or something LOL
I heard from someone that they were accepting a whole cohort this year, unlike the past where they only accept the number of people who didn’t make it in the first year. I also heard that the program is more like a year and a half instead of a year because we technically join the nursing cohort in their second year which starts in the fall. So the Spring semester will consist of the transition course. This is just info that was passed on to me from someone who recently did the LVN program at SWC so I’m not 100% sure!
IDK about you guys but I’m sort of relieved that we will be spending some time doing a transition course because I’m stressing a little about jumping in to the second year, I feel like I don’t remember anything from the LVN program ? it wasn’t the best program and my memory ain’t the best either haha
