Southwestern College ADN Fall 2017

Published

Hi everyone! I thought I'd start a whole new topic for those who applied to Southwestern's Fall 2017 cohort. This is the first time I've applied for a nursing program, so I am very excited and nervous of whats to come. I'm curious to see the amount of points you have totaled so I know what I'm up against. I totaled my points to be 74/75, so that may be low compared to some of you. I wish everyone luck and I hope to see you in August!

Do you know what kind of abbreviations and CNA skill we need to know for the first week of school ?

Abbreviations for nursing students.

THIS WAS RECOMMENDED IN THE ORIENTATION PACKET.

Has anyone purchased the CoursePoints? The ISBNs are different from the orientation packet. I was wondering if I should still go for it..

You will only need the prepU access for those books if you decide on buying the actual textbook. Coursepoint is just PrepU+Ebook.

Hi everyone, I know it might be early to ask this, but how is nursing at southwestern going for you?

Hi all! I just applied for the LVN-RN step up program. I applied last year and got in but took a job instead, so now I'm applying again for this year. I have 84 points. I was wondering if you guys could tell me how many students dropped out of your class, so I have an idea of how many LVNs will be entering your cohort this summer?

Hi everyone! I'm really nervous about the nursing program. I applied and I have around 80-82 pts. Im hoping I get in! Do you all know when it will be the soonest we'll hear back from them???

Hi @Lilianam8, you should check out this thread: https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/southwestern-college-adn-1135132.html, as its for the 2018 cohort applicant.

Hi @Lilianam8 I got my acceptance letter through email March 8, 2017 for SWC ADN

Can anyone tell me how nursing at swc? I apply swc, Grossmont and Palomar. But I heard swc is easy to get

Anyone who in nursing program now, can I please ask how is the program at southwestern college. Why did they require 78 to pass with a C, and city college require 75 for C and if you failed 3 test during the program, you are out of the program at city college

@tidybear Southwestern is an OK school. Not the best but not the worst. We don't know why our failing grade is higher than city's. Every school is different
