I just wanted to start a topic for this upcoming Southwestern ADN cohort (Fall 2018)! What are everyone's stats? (GPA, Teas, etc). I'm also applying at San Diego City, Palomar College, Grossmont and National University.
Thank you. I think they're doing a few changes this application period due to the new director.
I believe so too. I think that is why they're takin longer to review the application... I remember when I spoke with the nursing counselor she stated that this director is a lot more strict she told me that it doesn't matter how many times you retook the class they will only be looking at what you got for the first class taken... the only exception was the science classes. Only one repeat. So I called today you guys and I got yelled @ LOL
I'm so sorry you got yelled at but at least now we know we are definitely not gonna get emailed today :/
It's okay they didn't ask for my name lol. Well the lady was really grumpy and was like "remember that brown paper you guys had to sign it SPECIFICALLY stated not to call... second of all we're barely in the process of reviewing the applications, so we haven't finished yet... and remember to check you southwestern college email bc that is the only one we will be sending acceptances to" .. and then I said sorry and hung up, but she sounded really mad LOL
So who knows when we will hear back from them... I can't wait anymore I really want this

Thanks for taking one for the team!
Everyone- a couple things.
First, Nursing School is stressful. Being a nurse can be stressful. How you handle your stress now is an example of what may happen when you are 10 times more stressed or have 10 times more anxiety. Please consider healthy ways to deal with these things now. Things are out of your control so it's not helpful (or healthy) to try and control them.
Secondly - I don't mean to be negative or hurtful or cause more anxiety or stress at all. But I am a realist. STOP CALLING!!! You signed a written contract it sounds like. I mean the fact that they gave that to you all makes me think it's a big deal. Don't break your contract - that is your word. Not telling them who you are doesn't make it okay to break your word. Do you know if they have caller ID? Please follow directions. You will have to do so as a nurse and as a nursing student.
Next, breathe. It will be okay. Just to clear things up now - being on the waiting list has historically been a good thing. Most everyone usually gets in. Yes there's a new director so the way things were may not be the way things are. No matter what happens everything's by will be okay and it's not the end of the world.
Lastly, I want to share that Nursing School is hard but in my experience Southwestern genuinely cares
About their students. Get all your ducks in a row before school. Follow directions perfectly!! If you don't know ask someone else. There may be used book sold by those graduating - I'll try and help with that - but please be patient.
Hang in there. You will know soon. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi all, does anyone know when acceptance and denial letters get sent out for Fall 2018 cohort?
