Hello, have anyone graduated or are currently enrolled at SCTC in Griffin, Ga. ? I applied for the PN and ADN program and I'm scheduled to take my teas test February 17th. I'm really nervous because every school is so competitive in Georgia. Been out of college for 5 years so I'm hoping I get a good score on my teas test and be accepted.

Yikes, looks like I'm behind lol
I need to email Ms. Ballard with all my questions

She's very great when it comes to answering questions. she told me to ask as many as i needed. I initially got a call from her offering me the seat and then i emailed her some questions. and then she called back to answer them. Especially with it being sooooo short notice i wanted all the info i could get so i could get a jump on things and be some what prepared once the program starts. luckily I got my documents and everything done since i was technically in another program. The one thing id tell you to go ahead and get is you background/drug test through Advantage Students and your shot records and everything.

Wow I had no idea you had to do that. I emailed Ms. Ballard with no reply as of yet. Would it be crazy if I asked you to post the questions you asked with her replies? Of course without your personal info
If not I totally get it

Sorry , I was at work , but you’re fine lol
But yes , You’ll need a background check with the drug screening through Advantage Student & Your immunization records( including flu, TB, MMR, HEP B etc) you may need a titer for some and probably a booster for Hep B if you haven’t gotten one in the last 10years. CPR of course .
I was mainly asking about the books and financial aid and if they would process my stuff in time and they did. Books are the ones I listed . Unless you’re using financial aid for books I definitely wouldn’t buy from the book store, it’s Ridiculous. I saw a bundle on amazon and on the publisher website for the pharmacology & fundamentals book with 2 additional checklist for a price cheaper than what the bookstore wanted for only one book ???
If you can I would have copies of all the documents you can and bring them to the orientation ( Shot records flu , CPR , CNA License, TB ).
She has been very crammed with figuring out placing and whose accepting spots and getting everything together so I know that she’s very busy. She was very pleasant so I know she’ll answer your questions when she has a chance . I think she initially tried calling people but then realized that that was a lot so she just sent out the email to the reminder.
let me know if I can answer anything, I really don’t have much information other than what I told you but I can ask someone I know who initially got accepted.
also , I will be at the Henry campus instead of Flint River . They had a seat left and asked if I wanted to move since Henry is closer and I live pretty far .

I saw the email that was sent out today and ?? That's a lot that I need to get done in such a short amount of time. I see you're a CNA and you've done a majority of the checklist from another school so I'm sure it's less stressful for you. I'm over here straight out of the anatomy classes and I feel like I'm drowning. Know of any cheaper places to get vaccinations done? I usually go to Eagles Landing Family Practice but they overprice absolutely EVERYTHING that I have a huge bill after insurance
Most if not all of the vaccinations are ones you should’ve received as a child. You can go to you local health department and ask for a copy of your records and they also provide vaccinations fairly cheap if not free. (Income based) . My second option would be your primary care doc , if that’s the one you listed above then never mind. But the Heath department would be #1. Do you work in the healthcare field? If yes then see if your job will give them to you. I work for Northside so I was able to get a lot of stuff done through them. You have time believe me , the stuff is really needed prior to clinical and that’s mid semester.

I definitely need to stop by the health department tomorrow for sure. I'm actually a kindergarten teacher so all I needed to do was a drug test but that was years ago when I was first hired.
You have been so incredibly helpful. I sincerely appreciate it!

I took it last year. Testing is on hold right now and the deadline is June 22-25 so I'm assuming they will let us use old scores. I was told to check back in a few weeks about testing.
