Southern Cali LPN salaries

Published

hey everyone. Just wondering what the going salary is for a LPN in southern Cali, los angeles, long beach, etc etc.On salary.com it says towards 40,000. That seems a little high to me.

I live in Long Beach Ca. but work in the city of Torrance (10 miles away) and made a little over that last year. I work full time at an accute hospital, and rarely work "extra". So yes it is true you can make 40G, but our housing cost out here is outrageous.

really, i was looking online at a lot of apartments and found many for about 1000 dollars a month.Dosnt sound that outrageous

I just moved from Southern California 2 months ago. An apartment that rents for $1,000 monthly is very likely located in a high-crime rate area, so you get what you pay for. My friend paid $980 for a 2-bedroom apartment in a dangerous part of the L.A. area. You'll end up paying $1,400 to $1,800 for a place in a moderately safe area.

And forget about ever purchasing a home in Southern California on an LVN salary. Old homes cost over $500,000 and nice, newer homes cost well over $700,000 if you have ever dreamed of homeownership.

not necessarily. you can rent a 500 sq foot studio in a nice area for $1000. that's where i lived in irvine and irvine is usually in the top 10 safest cities in the country. but again, that only works when you're single with a small dog.

and as far as the home prices, that's why many of us are moving from so. cal to less expensive areas. like you to texas and me to florida.
