Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone,

I haven't seen any threads about South Dakota State University and their nursing program. I know that they have an accelerated program in Sioux Falls and recently opened one in Aberdeen, SD. I am not from South Dakota but am applying all over. Anyone have any information regarding either of these programs? I have already applied and have an interview but would love more insight.

I did my undergrad at SDSU it is the best school in South Dakota, IMO....GO JACKS! SDSU is notorious in this area for producing wonderful nurses. The standard nursing program through SDSU is rigorous from what I hear so I suspect the accelerated is just as difficult if not more. However, if you were accepted and chose to go through SDSU you could rest assured you would have a great nursing education, plenty of hands on experience, and come from a program with a good reputation. I am doing an accelerated program in Sioux Falls through USF because the program seemed to be a better fit for me, but SDSU produces great nurses!

May I ask how you are able to do an accelerated program in Sioxus Falls through USF (which i am assuming is University of South Florida) is it a hybrid program or online program?

They are referring to University of Sioux Falls, not University of South Florida.

Specializes in high quality nursing education.

To be eligible to apply to the SDSU Accelerated Nursing (NACC) program, you will need a 2.8 cumulative GPA and 3.0 GPA in the pre-requisite courses (2 chemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, human nutrition, human development, psychology, and sociology).

There are personal statements as part of the application, plus an interview.

The program is 12 months. Aberdeen NACC is January to December; Sioux Falls NACC is August to August. Each site admits up to 40 students per year.
