Did I misunderstand? You are supposed to see 27 patients but they want you to see 35? I only started working in home health this week and we were told that Case Managers are 'expected' to see between 25 and 27 people a week...except that admits count as 2. Then they said if we were a 'float' we could see a bunch of people and have a day off. This is all very new to me and I haven't quite caught up to the ins and outs of home care.
I have been in HH for only 5 months now. The agency supposedly requires RN's to have 24 points per week. 3points for SOC's, 2 points for recerts and F/U's, 1 point for routine visits. Most of the RN's only make that the quota 1-2 weeks out of the month. We keep hearing: "i can't believe they're (corporate) not making us get rid of an RN, because ya'll are not working enough." I see anywhere from 12-18 pts a week, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on whether i'm on call. I feel like it's pretty sweet-- although there are times when we can't keep up with the pace. Although, I've found that for every SOC, I need a minimum of 45min in the office to complete the care plan, referrals, MD calls, etc. How does that compare to other agencies/nurses? Please reply.

the hh i work for was just bought by a company that pays by the patient and they use the point system. full time rn's are required to have 26 points per week. i asked if you make your 26 points at the beginning of the week if you could have a half day or whole day off on fridays. well the answer is no, we need to see at least 7 pts every day. that is 7pts which some are evals and recert which count as 2 points. so thats 35 pts a week. im tired!
i was wondering if this is the norm or if im being overworked. it seems like if you make all your points that should be it for the week.
