Is anyone else out there applying for Sonoma State's BSN program? The apps are due at the end of the month. Just wondering if there's anyone out there applying! :)

just found out that they might let us know at the end of april now... i just called them
That is the worst news ever! I applied there and I really don't think I am going to get in. I am coming from Santa Barbara, so its really far away. But I had a lot of good things to add to my packet. I had a really good essay, my CNA license, my EMT license, and for the heck of it, I threw in 3 letters of recommendation from my supervisors in campus. My TEAS score sucked, so that's why I don't think I am going to get in. I am retaking it next weekend for San Marcos.
Good luck to all! Let's post when we start to get letters!

Hey everyone!
I'm graduating from the SSU prelicensure program in May. I will tell you that my year they took 24 people. You pretty much had to be either a CNA or EMT. My friend got rejected because she had a B in one of her science classes. Most people accepted had either at or very near a 4.0 in their pre-nursing courses. If you had a B in a science course you better have an AMAZING background in medicine of some sort and have awesome answers to the application questions. It was a great program to be a part of. I got a 89% on my teas test after suffering a concussion a couple days before and was nervous that would disqualify me. Most of my classmates scored in the 90's. Nursing is tough. If you aren't serious about it then don't apply. The program is very rigorous and at times seemed impossible to get through. The rewards are great though. I had a blast. Good luck to you all!
Adamsli88- congrats on your upcoming graduation!! I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind:
1. Where are the clinical sites for the program? What's the farthest you had to go?
2. Did you have to do clinicals on the weekends very much? I live near San Jose and I want to be able to come home on the weekends to see my hubby.
3. Was your class a mix of ages or mostly people going for their first bachelor's degree?
That's all for now. Thanks for your info!!
Thank you!
We had most of our clinicals in Santa rosa. However, some were in Napa at Queen of the Valley and at UCSF. The only clinical on the weekend was UCSF during our Peds rotation. It was Sunday and Monday for four weeks, but I think they cut it down to 3 weeks. All of them were mostly on Thursday and Friday so you're in luck there. It was definitely a mix of ages. I was one of the babies of the class. I'm graduating on my 23rd birthday. But we had ages all the way up to the mid 50's. There wasn't one main age group. It made it fun! :-)
Wow, that's really good to know. Thanks for telling us all that stuff!
I have A's in everything, except Physio. I got a B in that, but its because I took it the same semester as Microbiology and Pathophysio. I also have both my EMT and CNA license and mailed copies to them. My GPA is somewhere around a 3.7 (not sure how they figured that one out since I had transcripts from two different colleges). I have a lot of experience with being a tutor on campus with both Anatomy and Physiology. I've won awards for it and I was also the CNA tutor for my campus. I'm on two different honor roles. Unfortunately, my TEAS score was a 75%. I was unable to study before I took it and didn't realize it was my last chance. I am retaking it on Saturday for San Marcos. That's the last school I get to hear from! Hopefully when I bring that up, I will have a much better chance!

Thanks for the info! Do you recommend any particular place to live (or any place not to live)? I plan to live off-campus and hope to rent a room somewhere. I'm not too familiar with the area.
