Is anyone else out there applying for Sonoma State's BSN program? The apps are due at the end of the month. Just wondering if there's anyone out there applying! :)

I applied and can't wait till April to get the results. I wonder how many points it takes to get in.
I'm curious about that as well. Are you a local applicant? I'm not so I can't get those 5 points for locals
I live in Sonoma county so I get the extra 5 points. My GPA is about a 3.5 so I am kinda nervous about that. I think my essays will get a fair amount of points as I worked in a hospital for 5 years. My TEAS percentile was 90 something. My mom even works at SSU, but not in the nursing department so I am in the same boat as everyone else, wondering and hoping. I have begged her to ask someone from the program how many points it usually takes to get in but no luck so far. April seems so far away. Where are you from? What made you want to go to SSU?
I live in Fremont and am applying to SSU b/c it's somewhat close and because they're accepting 2nd baccalaureate students. I already have a degree. My GPA is around 3.8 and I got a 93% on my TEAS so hopefully that's enough to make up for the 5 pts I can't get. Let me know if you hear anything about how many points it usually takes to get in. Good luck!!
They do give you a points break down on the FAQ part of their web page. For the GPA they multiply it by 6.25 so you can figure out how many points you are going to get, just not how many are needed. I will let you know if I hear anything.

hi,
i applied for fall 2011. I already got rejected from long beach im so mad!!! i got 8.75 and u needed 8.8 to get an interview. i live in santa rosa so sonoma state would be cool but chico is my first choice. I know i am not going to get in because i went there to talk to a nursing advisor and you need like 84 to get in and i only have 75. So im waiting on ssu which i still have a chance cus i live here.
i have an 3.60 over all gpa a 3.69 nursing gpa and i am a cna and have volunteered for about 150 hours. The thing that is bringing me down is the teas. i took it 3 times and my best score is 81.3 which is not competitive. my backup plan is to take this teas test all summer to get a 90 percent and move to chico for fall and apply there for spring. For you guys that got like 90 percent on the teas tell me how u did it???? i bought the teas book and studied it and took practice test but its just so hard for me..... tell me how to get a good score???.....
I applied to long beach, east bay, ssu, chico, san diego, san burnadino, san marcos, srjc, and LA.
twhit29-sorry about Long Beach, you were so close!
For the TEAS, I bought the ATI study guide and the online practice tests. It helped to go over my anatomy and physiology notes before taking the test too. You might want to be careful about taking the TEAS test so many times, some schools (I think San Jose State) only consider you if you take the TEAS no more than twice. Not sure about other schools though.
Anyway, good luck with all your schools and don't give up hope. You're lucky you get that 5 point advantage for being local!
Erin,
Ya I bought that same book and it helped but not enough I guess. I didn't apply for San Jose some of the schools only will take your fist 2 test but Chico will take a many as u want. I found another teas help book online so I think I'll try that and take it over the summer. I need to get an 88 to 90 percent aleast. I guess I'll just see and try my best. I'm just really nervous about the whole thing!!!
Today's the 16th! We're halfway there to finding out. Hopefully we'll get news earlier :)
